Muso switching sources

Posted by: Simonb on 05 November 2018

hi

my muso has gone into meltdown, constantly switching sources. I’ve tried all resets and still the same. I’ve tried ringing customer services for 2 days but no answer.

any ideas as to what the problem is or how to fix?

I suspect the answer to this question will be ‘what do you take me for, a bloody idiot?’, but have you tried pulling out the mains plug and leaving it for 10 minutes before switching on again. And by ‘all resets’ I assume you’ve poked a paper clip into the little hole on the back.

Ha, yes I’ve tried all that and more but thanks anyway

Hi SimonB -- I can't answer your question but I can share an experience that might help you understand what's going on.  A while ago I paired a bluetooth device to my Muso.  The device (a Google Home Mini) seemed to keep the connection active by 'polling' the Muso every few seconds, even when no music was being played.  This resulted in the Muso switching from the current source (Spotify, Radio etc) and back to Bluetooth.  It could be that you are experiencing something similar.   Have you paired any new bluetooth devices with the Muso recently?   Does it consistently switch TO the same source such as bluetooth or Airplay, or is the switching completely random between all sources?

Best of luck!

I had the same as RADEBER with a new Super bluetooth device which I gave up using.

Hi

thanks for the info, I spoke to a naim technician today and he suggested a firmware reset (holding the reset button for 12 seconds). All good for about 20mins now I’m back in the same situation.

my faith is dying in the muso, frustrating to say the least.
