Nice little Naim event put on by the gents at Basically Sound.
Fist up, was ND555 v NDS - usual descriptives I.e. a lifting of the veil etc. Very good and a decent step up but not enough for me to rush out and rob a bank v my NDS just
yet.
The Nd555 was partnered with 500 series and the Kanta 3. I do like the look of these speakers and if Focal continue to develop their speakers with Naim electronics then I suspect there is more to come. The Kanta 3’s added very little colour to the sound and were very good.
I currently run Fact 8’s and will peruse a demo with the Kanta 2/3 or maybe the PMC twenty five .6’s. I like my fact 8’s but they can sometimes be a little too much in my relatively sparce room.
They also had the super cool Kanta 1’s in a French blue , delightful sound from these little stand mounts and sound good partnered with supernatural / ndx2 (I think)
Thanks to all those at Basically Sound.

I bought my first Naim system from them nearly 30 years ago - 140/72 and Arcam Alpha CD player. When that was stolen I went back to them and upgraded to a 180/72/HiCap/CD3. Lovely bunch of guys. Very relaxed, not pushy and informative. Happy memories. I am now located some distance away but if I was not I would have been there!

Basically Sound, super dudes offering a supreme and detailed Naim+ service. Over a decade or more they have been my friendly guides on a journey from 200/220 through to ND 555/ NAC 552. My ND 555 demo with them in the summer was a delight and I now have a second power supply ordered with them. And sometimes it is even possible to get out on a bike ride together.

Thanks to all for the posts and glad that Friday's Naim ND555 Roadshow event was enjoyed by all those who attended.
And not taking the focus away from the superb new Naim network players, the Focal Kanta range is certainly very impressive too and we are going to enjoy having the newer N1s and N3s around for a few more days to evaluate them further for ourselves. We've been impressed with the N2's since they arrived, so the newer models will be a welcome addition to the range.
We would like to add our own Thanks to both Jon from Naim and Matt from SCV (Focal's UK distributor for headphones) for their involvement and enthusiasm during the event.
And it only seems like yesterday that we opened the doors but we are now in our 13th year here at Calveley Court, Reymerston - and our Thanks again to Naim for their continued support at every step along the way.
