Music Show Brussels - NDX2 shines and some other impressions
Posted by: Iver van de Zand on 25 November 2018
Unfortunately there are not too many Hifi shows in Belgium, but every year in november, there is the one from New Music Hifi. The show is in a hotel and they use hotel-rooms to show the various brands and set-ups. Not ideal, but some of the brands have larger rooms and thus can deliver decent demonstrations. Naim was represented by BeNeLux distributor Latham. Apart from various Uniti set-up (an Atom really shining with Neat), they had a very nice set-up with an NDX-2/XPSdr combination paired up with 252/SuperCap300dr and Neat Momentum SX5i. Very impressive. The NDX-2 really shows its full potential in this set-up. The Neat are not my preference even though the perform at very high levels. One of the revelations I heart at this show are the new Sonus Faber Electa Amator III monitor speakers. Amazingly good. They were demonstrated with Audio Research and McIntosh and excelled with very good imaging and a lot of "air" in their sounds. In another room they showed the Vivid Kaya 45 on Molo Molo kit. Probably the best sounding system I heart today. Incredible relaxed, yet detailed sound. Would love to hear those on Naim
