Super Lumina Din - XLR - 1m or 1.5 meter?

Posted by: piggy on 03 December 2018

I already have SL Speaker cable and din-din interconnect and now looking at the din-xor between my NAP300 and 552 that are on two stacks of Fraim.

Should I choose the 1m or 1.5m? Also any cable dressing tips for this cable as the din-din interconnect was very fussy to get right.

Just like to future proof for when/if I should get a nap500 or if this will make any diffrence as 1 meter does seem long enough when the 2 Train stacks are close together.

Thanks, Andy

Either will be fine

Thanks Gaza, was not 100% sure as I saw other forum members comment on getting around the heat sink on the NAP500 and this is one cable I only intend to buy once.

To be 100% sure could you take a look at your dealers NAP 500 set up. It’s certainly OK with a 300, and my bottom Fraim is a medium height, bought for future proofing for NAP 500. So I think it should be fine, but if you can just try at the dealer, that would be much better.

Great minds, I just ordered medium size legs to change my standard ones in order to future proof!

yes, will ask the question. Yes will ask the question.

Hi Piggy. If your existing cable length in your current fraim lay out is working for you from a cable dressing point of view, I would suggest to order that same length.

I thought the DIN-XLR mono pair for 300 to 552 only came in 1 meter length

If you look at the 2018 price list you will see option for 1 or 1.5m options

I recommend 1.5 meters.  My 500 is at the same level as the 500 PS, which is in an adjacent "brawn" rack, and it is a very close fit to reach the channel input on the far side.  Wish they had offered the 1.5 option when I bought my cables.

Have you not thought of the tall legs ? This would give you more air space above the 500 head unit when you get one.

Yes, did think about tall legs but as I already have an empty shelve on both stacks of Fraim this would remain.

I also don’t want to take up any more space then is needed, besides it will also most likely end up being used by my cats as an extra warm bed to sleep on.
