Controlling HDX with phone

Posted by: Jason on 06 September 2011

Had a search but can't get a definitive answer on this so hope someone may be able to answer this.

I have an android HTC phone.  This, I am informed, runs Flash.  In theory, I think I should be able to use the HDX's web interface through my phones browser to control it using the same control system that is displayed on the front of the HDX's screen.

I have input the HDX's IP address in the browser of my phone and it then displays the Naim CD logo as though it is starting up the software and connecting to the HDX, but then just sticks on this screen with no further action.

I have tried downloading the latest version of Adobe flash player onto my phone but it doesn't seem to want to do it saying there is a connectivity problem every time I try (even though there is clearly connectivity for everything else I do and the internet connection is working normally).

I suspect this is an issue with the phone but I'm not sure whether this is something which would work in the first place.

Any ideas, or can anyone confirm they have managed to run the web interface on their phone (not the nserve app as this is only for iphone)?

Thanks.

I remember a similar issue when I tried to control the HDX via an HTC phone from a friend of mine. At that moment I thought it was due to my lack of experience with these new media...

Sorry to be not of any help for you...

Regards,

Michel

I have used my HTC sensation to control the UnitiServe and it works without fault. However the screen is too small to be truly useful.

I would agree that screen is too small really.  Ideally Ipad is the way forward, but just thought I'd see if it would work!  In theory it should, but doesn't run on my phone for some reason.

Sorry, but the initial question has not been answered. How can I control my HDX with an Android phone?

Make sure your phone is using the same wifi network...also is the ip address static.  if yes to both try typing in
