Wardell Quezerque RIP

Mr. Quezerque, who died Tuesday at age 81, had hits with "Iko Iko" and "Chapel of Love," recordings he produced with the Dixie Cups; "Barefootin' " by Robert Parker; "Groove Me" by King Floyd; "Mr. Big Stuff" by Jean Knight; and a slew of others.Generations of musicians he worked with, from Fats Domino and Professor Longhair to Dr. John and Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, knew him as "the Creole Beethoven." Mr. Quezerque (pronounced "ka-ZARE") grew up in a family in which everybody played an instrument.
