No data available for changing Genres

Posted by: Ultramanzero on 18 September 2011

Using a UnitiServe SSD contacted to a NAS, all control is fine with the N-Serve (iPhone) and Desktop Client (PC), try to change the Genres of some albums using the direct control of the UServe Mouse port and VGA output, go into System Setup > Manage Music> Assign Genres page, no data available shown on screen no matter you browse the albums by any of the categories (Recently Ripped, View Genres, View Albums and View Artists). Resetted the UServe and the NAS but problem still exsisted.

Same thing happened with Rename Music and Delete Music.

Anyone have experienced the above and any solutions, thanks!

Hi,

I use the DTC on the Unitiserve SSD to do all music store maintenance and this works fine. I assume you are trying to edit Naim ripped music and not music ripped elsewhere which cannot be done via the Unitiserve.

In DTC to change a genre I simply gbring up the album in the big window to the right and drag it to the desired genre.

Thanks Gerry, tried your method but it didn't accept the move!. Not sure if I did it right, I bring up all albums on the right window and drag to the left window where the Genres are, it doesn't work.

I use the Web Browser to change Genres since day 1 and don't know what went wrong.

Hi Ultramanzero, do you finally find out what was your problem ? I have the same problem on an HDX with a NAS Qnap server. It's really anoying not being able anymore to administrate genres...

Any idea anyone ?

Thanks in advance !

Yeah !  Found out my problem was I had my music on a NAS Server but the repertory was not connected as a store for music into 'repositories'.   Now it works fine so I guess one can only manage genres that are on stores of the HDX.

correct. Only on 'stores', not on 'shares'.

Btw, Gerry had shown us also how to edit genre names or add new genres, by left clicking on the left pane.
