NAIMNET (NOT?)

As the soon-to-be proud owner of an HDX, I have been researching digital/networked players for some time now.  One observation I've made is that there is next to no information on the web about the NAIMNET networked music distribution system.  Even the naimnet.com site has only very limited information on its own products (compared to the naimaudio.com site).  With the economy going the way it has since 2007, I guess it's not surprising that huge new McMansions are becomeing an endagered new species (along with whole house mega- A/V systems) but has NAIM indeed decided to change direction more towards its roots vs "Cloud" audio?  Interestingly, there appears to be quite a lot of activity on Russian websites on the NAIMNET products/system.  Maybe mother Russia is the last hold-out for the idle and ill-begotten rich?!

From past experience, I can tell you that the residential custom integration market in the United States can be very skeptical when it comes to fundamental changes in approach, for good reason–many of the "new technologies" that have been proposed within the custom channel are often fly-by-night and barely functional.

Contrast this with other markets, where the "established players" in the US CI market are less well known, and you tend to see fairly significant inroads with NetStreams' Matrix-Switch-in-the-Cloud™ approach (NaimNet uses the StreamNet technology as the basis for its lossless multi-room connections). This is good, solid technology that has proven itself within the commercial market and is, only now, finally getting its due in the United States.
