HDX as server - music access with Squeezebox Touch possible?

Posted by: Pepe68 on 23 September 2011

Hi,

I´m using a HDX and looking for a cheap music access solution for a second room. Is ist possible to play the WAV files stored on the HDX with a Squeezebox Touch? If not, is there an other good solution without the need of buying expensive new equipment?

I am also looking for this. I have found using plug player on my iPod plugged into an old midi is not receiving my shares. Only stores. And only mp3 not wav?

With regard to PlugPlayer–make sure your music scope is All Music and not CD Collection or Browse by Device–any share points seen by the HDX will be visible.

As far as Squeezebox is concerned–the beta version of Logitech Media Server 7.7 is capable of scanning a network location and presenting files for the Squeezebox to see–see if this works for you.

David,

thank you for the information regarding Media Server 7.7

@2roomsor1

I´m using PlugPlayer together with an ipad. I have no problems playing the files from my HDX, but I´m unhappy with the poor soud quality of the ipad connected via headphone out to the amp. That is why I´m looking for an other solution
