Server Internet Radio update - need help with NAS backup

Posted by: PBenny1066 on 27 September 2011

Just installed the new server update for Internet radio on my Unitiserve, and now works flawlessy with no fuss.  Really impressed with the overall quality and the user interface - well done Naim !

Am struggling a bit with configuring the NAS back up facility though.  Am using the web interface to try to do this - (Mac user, I don't have the DTC).  Am using Synology DS411 NAS, which is working fine.  The Unitiserve sees the NAS, and reports the folder as Enabled, Active, and with a green light.

I have used "Add New Music Backup" to add this folder on the NAS, and everything looks fine.  But when I go to "Back up Music" in the Manage Music menu, I get the following message : "Server does not have any back up store configured".

Have repeated this about 10 times now, but to no avail.

Any help much appreciated, would really like to use this facility, have no back up at present.

Cheers, Paul

Paul,

I had the same problem with my Unitiserve.

Try disabling the folder in the web browser menu "Manage Network Shares" first.

Then add this folder in the "Add New Music Backup" menu.

If you then go to Desktop Client application under Tools / maintenance / backup monitor , your backup  folder should be in the destination drop down options.

Hi John,
Problem solved thanks to support from Phil Haris.  A static ip address on the NAS seemed to do the trick, backup function now working, really pleased because I couldnt persuade my NAS (Synology) to do the back ups. I think Winkyincanada claimed that NASs are work of the devil, and I am beginning to believe him !.....
