New(ish) stuff

Afro Celt Sound System: Volume 2 Release - An album that suceeds in melding Irish and African rhythms where so many other purported integrations do not work at all. Having said that the Irish influence is the more prominent and the African style is incorporated around it but it works very well.

Karan Casey: Songlines - Former lead singer with Solas(that's So-lass, Vuk) who is now solo(that's so-low, Vuk). An album of classic/standard Irish trad(for the most part) songs, delivered in a pure and captivating voice. The only question mark is her choice of these classic songs because they invite comparison with those singers who made them classic in the first place. Nevertheless a good listen.
