62/140 versus Nait 5

Just spotted a cheap as new condition Nac62. What do people think of buying this plus a smilar good condition s/h Nap140 or similar, as opposed to buying a new Nait 5 for around the same money? This would be my first Naim foray...

I would go for the 62/140. Several years ago when I bought my first Naim I demed the 62/140 against the Nait of the time(3 I think). The Nait was great, big improvement over the Mission Amp I was using at the time, the 62/140 was streets ahead.

Added to this, you have a better upgrade path, in my opinion anyway, with the 62/140

Personally I would try and find either an upgraded 32.5 or even better a 72. Either of these when partnered with a power amp from the 110 upwards should more than do the trick. I have not yet heard a Nait 5 (hope to at the show), though I very much doubt it will be in the same league as these pre-power amp combinations.
