"Bandwidth limiting" on preamps

Posted by: Tony L on 13 October 2000

Anyone know how the frequency bandwidth limiting filter on Naim preamps actually works, and what frequency it kicks in? I have even heard conflicting opinions as to whether it is a high or low pass filter from different people.

Just curious…

It's definitely a low-pass filter, not a high-pass.

Oh anyone would think you've just got a Party Pack, or something!?

The low pass filter is -3dB at either 37 or 38KHz, IIRC.
I can't remember the exact LF limit, I think it's somewhere around 3 or 5Hz.

Which would indicate a band-pass effect.
