Ok, chaps at what sort of intervals (6 mths ???) should one chop back and re-solder these joints,

I am upto nearly 2 yrs now... (is this bad.)

Naheed, if your connectors are correctly soldered and there is no exposed copper to oxidise in the contact area, there is no need.

Re-terminating is to eliminate poorly-terminated joints (bad mechanical or poorly soldered joints).
