Minor Sync Problem with DVD5

Posted by: HiDefBob on 23 June 2005

I have a small sync problem(?) with my DVD5.

I am using a component cable to connect to my television.
- BNC analogue video outs on the DVD5.
- HD/DVD IN #5 on my Sony KV36XBR400.

EVERY time I turn on my DVD5 using the remote I have no sync on my Sony. Simply by turning the main power switch on the back of the DVD5 on and off sync is restored (no setting changes). If I turn the DVD5 off and then back on, I loose sync again! I have to go to the Main power again.

That does not seem right to me. Once the initial settings are made I would think the main power could be left on and sync would be maintained.

Any suggestions?

It is right! It is a known bug that will be hopefully fixed with the next software update. Solution for now is to never put it into standby.

Thanks SimonJ ... at least now I know it is not something I am doing wrong, or some defect with my unit!

My dealer told me this afternoon that 2 new updates for the DVD5 are out since 22/06. He doesn't know yet what they are for but he asked me the serial number of my DVD5.
I'll know more next week when I have my AV2 upgraded.
