ipod to macbook

Hiya guys,

I am just wondering if an itouch can be linked to a macbook to control itunes remotely, and if it is possible how do I set it up ?

Download the latest '2' software for ipod touch and then the apple remote app both available from the itunes store.

Follow the instructions.

You need a wireless router in the mix somewhere.

How remote is remote?

If you mean in the same house then yes you can if you have a wireless network. Simplest option is to get the Remote app from the iTunes store.

Thanks Lefty, very helpful. I am just trying ti figure out how to connect the itouch directly to the macbook, rather that via a seoerate wireless connection ( using airport ???)

You can't connect directly to use the Remote app. You have to go through a wireless router that both the iTouch and the macbook are connected to.

I was having great success with just an AE as both my router and music-server comms thingy. It's a really neat little box. (I've since added a Time Capsule to hold my music files and as easy back-up for everything else).

"Remote" is a great app. Very clever.
