HDX digital out - transparent to source ?

Posted by: james n on 28 October 2008

Just out of interest - does any sample conversion take place before the HDX digital output or is it just transparent to the source file - ie 24/96 file comes out at 24/96 ?

TIA

Hi James, there is a specific test called null test to check it. I am afraid I don't know how to do it properly but I can say that it basically consist on comparing source and streamed tracks inverting phase of one of them. It they are bit perfect identical the new summed audio track should be inaudible, but if there is some noise, then there are differences between the original and the copy. Same test is usually used to verify perfect rippings.

Hope it helps,
