Help
I'm not a big classical fan but a good friend of mine is. Its his big 4oth soon and need some hints for a gift. Had a browse through some of his stuff and it seems something like Moussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakoff, Orff, Borodin is what i'm after. Any box sets or "must have" vintage performances come to mind ?

Many thanks

Martin

Not clued in enough to help myself, but the Radio 3 "Building a Library" database is a useful source: aim at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/building/

There's also the 'Gramophone Guide to Classical CD's' which is a huge reference book full of advice which you can pick up in book remainder stores for £4.99. Be an instant expert on the best recorded versions of almost anything you care to mention wink
