Original vinyl

Why? Heard a song of his earlier today and it always makes the system sound good. Must get more of his stuff.

Laura Veirs - Year of Meteors

The first of hers I bought and, for me, still her best.

Delicate Sounds - Pink Floyd

A two and a quarter hour boot from their Delicate Sound of Thunder tour, picking this one up from about the mid way point with The Dogs of War.

Kevin you are correct I haven't been to Dalston for well over 25 years in the days that I used to live in Islington. It was a hell of a wrench moving North from South of the river!

Jeremy Irons reading TS Elliot's Four Quartets on Radio 4.

Amazing

I moved from North of the River (Childs Hill, Marylebone, Hampstead, Bayswayer, Camden and Lower Holloawy) to the South (Balham, Battersea, Clapham, Streatham, Wimbledon and back to Balham) in 1989 and couldn't be happier. Once you go South you never go back!

Disc two ("Deep Grooves & Big Hits") of this superb CTI box set. Contains tracks by Eumir Deodato, Esther Phillips, Johnny Hammond, Freddie Hubbard, George Benson, Grover Washington, Hank Crawford, Joe Farrell and Hubert Laws. Deodato's "2001" is the big hit here, but most striking for me are Phillips' amazing version of Gil Scott Heron and Brian Jackson's "Home Is Where The Hatred Is"; and Hammond's super-funky "It's Too Late" (the old Carole King number).

Stevie Wonder - Songs in The Key of Life

Wiki tells me this was the last record of the three that comprise his 'Classic phase', the other two having had mentions here recently. Who am I to argue?!

Sides 1 and 4 are on one record, 2 and 3 on the other. Always baffled me.

I found a BBC4 'Classic Album' programme in our TiVo box on the recording of Graceland, one of my favourite Paul Simon albums. Fascinating to see what went into the recording and production, so now it's time to give it a proper listen.

I have the little apple usb stick thing they did with all the 24bit flac files on it. I imported it onto Core a couple of evenings ago. Sounded quite decent!
