Help - super glue on speaker grill

Posted by: GregWPGibbs on 03 July 2018

Ive stupidly managed to get a smear of super glue on one of my speaker grills (don’t ask). It’s hardly noticeable, although the fact I know it’s there is annoying me. Could I user a proprietary super glue remover to remove/reduce it, or would (as I suspect) make matters worse. The speakers are Kudos C20s.

Acetone which can be found in nail varnish dissolves super glue, however, it may also discolour the speaker grills (you could test it on an inconspicuous area on the rear). Apply sparingly using a cotton bud to slowly soak the super glue before wiping clean. Several applications may be required. I would recommend practising on a spare piece of fabric to learn the correct technique.

Maybe a bit drastic... but have you asked Kudos how much a new grill would be.  Once you know you can make a better decision.

Unless you are prepared to buy a new grill and considering you have said it is hardly noticeable I would leave it well alone.

Given your avatar I'd hope you were at least using this brand:

I'd say live with it. Fook with it and it will only become more noticeable.
