Best thing after n-Vi?

Posted by: Jonas Olofsson on 26 October 2018

After many moons and at least 4 times back to Naim there is little hope that n-Vi will survive until Christmas. It won’t power up (again) and there is lots of functions not working any more so the obvious question is: is there anything beyond a n- Vi?

Im using it in a 5.1 system with Naim Axxess (Center), Kudos 10 A (Front), Vector rear and n-Sub.

So, what’s next? Any Linn? Or what?

When my n-Vi died again, after coming back from Naim, I plumped for a Acram AVR processor/amp, fronted by an Oppo.  Both have been faultless and, of course, can do more things than the n-Vi and the picture and sound is better.  Although Oppo has announced it is stopping production of its Bluray players, I'm told there are still a few around at dealers.  All that said, I still miss the nVi.

Interesting , why are you missing the n-Vi?

I liked the one-box solution and the simple interface.  Also, while my Arcam has more oomph, which is most noticeable at the bottom end, I felt the nVi's midrange and vocals had more clarity.

Any suggestions what to look for?
