Okay, here they are for me (not counting Classical). What about you?

Pharoah Sanders and Leon Thomas in a small club in S.F. 1974

The Doors at Hunter College and the Filmore East in NYC 1968.

Concert for Bangladesh Madison Sq. Garden, NYC

Big Brother and the Holding Co with Janis Joplin, Crawdaddy Theater in NYC

Blues Project, Central Park (their last concert)

Van Morrison Universal Ampitheater, L.A.

Joni Mitchell Madison, WI

Junior Wells at B.L.U.E.S. in Chicago

Magic Slim at Just Blues in Chicago (same night as Junior)

Santana in Milwaukee WI.

Kinks in Chicago in 70's

and no doubt quite a bit more but that's what immediately comes to mind in a free association type of thing. oh yeah, can't forget Procol Harum and Jethro Tull at Filmore East. Getting carried away....someone reel me in...

Rich,

Likewise, apologies for the delay.

My Dad used to work there so I had the great pleasure of being there for 4 years. Went to Punahou, learned to play guitar, did a bit of surfing - all the good stuff. It all seems like light years away now.

That's cool, Dave. No doubt all that quality time in paradise built a little character for you too. Wink

I have seen too many great ones to list. Far and away the best was Bob Marley and the Wailers at the Fox theater, Atlanta, Ga. 1978. It was almost magical.

Tommorow evening both Emmie Lou Harris & John Cale & Band have got gigs in Berlin both of who'm I've never seen, and would very much like to but unfortunately cannie, though I did see Adam and his ants, play the green gate pub in london on a foggy night where no more than ten people turned up, he was backed by the incredible (Then) Wayne County & the electric chairs, later to become Jane County after the ops were paid for, great original and memorable stuff indeed, had to walk home too.

Fritz Von Oldhat.

In order:
Solomon Burke at Manchester Debating Hall 2003
Blondie at Deeside Leisure Centre 1980 (Eat To The Beat Tour)
Dexys Midnight Runners at Manchester Academy 2003
Richard and Danny Thompson at Manchester Royal Exchange 1995
REM at Leeds Warehouse 1984
Bruce Springsteen at Roundhay Park 1985
John Hiatt at Manchester Debating Hall 1998 (?)
Shawn Colvin at the Hop and Grape 1996 (?)

Absolute worst:
Stones at the MEN 2003 (no sense of occasion; no pacing and generally poor)
Bob Mould at the MDH 1998 (?) - the only gig I have ever walked out of
Townes Van Zandt at the Hop and Grape (sometime shortly before he died - - very sad!)

Bowie's Reality tour, saw it at Wembley on both nights last week and he was awesome, brilliant mix of the new and some stunning renditions of old classics.
