After Elbow's new one, this renews confidence in the attainable pressing quality of modern vinyl.  Outer sleeve still a bit tight though for the LPs.

New album from Tim Booth.

Rather special on first few listenings.

Hi Karl,

The cover picture (signed by Merle Shore) is enticing, I admit being drawn to it (and led up the path) which may have influenced my decision to buy...

Yes it’s a Jazz Wax Records issue and credentials on the shrink-wrap sticker say:

Direct Metal DMM Mastering - Original George Neumann Cutting System.

My copy is a lovely well made slab of 180g vinyl, it has some static charge + dust easily removed with a clean (also replacing the cheapo-paper supplied inner-sleeve with a new poly-paper one) but imo the sound quality is quite reasonable, but not exceptional for a jazz trio recording from 1959 Chicago.

Nice relaxing easy on the ear jazz music of familiar tunes.

My copy came from jpc Germany, costing EUR 16.99

This only beats the current Amazon prices if you order a bunch of LP’s from jpc - they charge EUR 5.99 for UK shipping regardless to how many LP’s are ordered.

It would not be the first album I bought for the cover art!

HMV have it for sale for a price similar to that you paid.

As a slight aside, Systems Records  is often a good source of LP's and CD's at very good prices.
