Hoping March 4 is enjoyable for you, Matt.

Ewen,

I didn't think you liked his last album ?

Anyway, the new one sounds like it might be pretty good. One thing noted on his upcoming tour to support the new release, Doug Lancio will be on guitar. If not familiar, long-time player, producer and associate of Patty Griffin. She seems to have moved on to the respected Buddy Miller, and JH profits from the availability of Mr. Lancio. When I saw Patty live, I came away with great respect for Mr. Lancio, who could seemingly say more musically in a 15 second guitar-fill than many artists say in a whole album.

Anyway, always nice to have new JH on the horizon.

regards

Lontano:

You lucky soul. I am away for the weekend (at my hometown) and do not have access to my collection, save for the few that I have in my car. Enjoy your listening.

At my parent's house, in my old room, I only have a Cambridge Audio P50 MkII Booster and a JVC VCD player for my source, played through a couple of Denon bookshelf speakers (actually made by Mission speakers Malaysia in a small town just north of here).

No-Man's Wild Opera

Wild Opera

After years of negotiation, the proposed two CD re-mastered edition of No-Man's Wild Opera album (from 1996) is finally set to become a reality. The forthcoming deluxe edition will also include all of the Dry Cleaning Ray mini-album as well as some b-sides from the era.

We're currently at the stage of discussing artwork, final tracklisting and potential sleeve notes, but we hope that this will be ready for a Summer 2010 release.

From the Tim Bowness album notes blog, recollections of of the Wild Opera album.

I've got three new releases on order - Sade, Massive Attack and Gil Scott-Heron. Let's hope they are good.

The original was never released on vinyl, so maybe Burning Shed might lend a hand? The CD's are coming out on Kscope.

Other Tim Bowness projects that might see the light of day this year are...

Henry Fool - Long delayed double CD (hopefully Stephen Bennett is making progress)

Memories Of Machines with Giancarlo Erra and several special guests

Bowness/Chilvers - California Norfolk (2-disc version)

A new album with Peter Chilvers, Michael Bearpark and Steve Bingham. Probably a Burning Shed label release, under the Samuel Smiles name

Co-production and co-writing on a new Judy Dyble album
