US Executive and his Facebook documents seized by MPs and escorted to Parliament

Yes very interesting; I was not aware such powers existed in Parlimentary laws & processes.  Watching with interest from afar on www & wondering why it’s not made into TV news or at least not into the BBC & Sky “world” news that I can see.

Yes, Mike, the Parliamentary committees are extraordinarily powerful - even the likes of Rupert Murdoch, Philip Green, the head of G4S or the D-G of the BBC, when called before them, tend to come. As far as I am concerned, this is A Very Good Thing.

This power is also a useful reminder to Remain fanatics who say that without the EU's "protection" and "benificence" Blighty will be bullied into submission by Putin stooges and Yankee capitalists that they are spreading FUD and talking out of their bottoms.

They made a very big deal of it on CNN.

Well Kevin, I'm a remainer and take extreme offence at your comment and your bending of the truth. 48% stay, 52% leave and some 10% or so of the population who didn't vote, presumably because they didn't believe the lies that both sides made up! Rich xxx

Old Blighty might still be bullied by Putin and the US... the power of Parliamentary committees notwithstanding.

And I agree the comment about "Remain fanatics" simply distorts the truth (but it's not worth taking offence at).

@Rich 1 and @SamClaus - There are Bremaniacs who are every bit as fanatical and swivel-eyed as the likes of Mogg and his ERG, Raab and Redwood.

One only has to listen to or read the rantings of the likes of Andrew Adonis, AC Grayling, Fintan O'Toole, Martin Selmayr, Will Hutton and others to realise that there are equal numbers of fanatics on both sides, and there's very little difference between them in terms of vehemence or their willingness to twist the truth.

If you don't like that fact, or my expressing it, that's not really my problem, I'm afraid.

I wonder what the "story beneath the story is?" I find it hard to believe in this day and age that anyone would seriously travel with emails and other documentations on paper which means they'd be in electronic form, either on a USB stick or a laptop. The chances of any businessperson actually having their laptop seized and inspected or USB sticks taken away for scrutiny whilst in transit are extraordinarily unlikely, never happened to me ever and I travel a lot. That is unless the individual concerned is on some kind of watch list and his movements known and followed My guess is there's been a lot of electronic forensics going on behind the scenes where Facebook and their associates are concerned and this is just the tip of the iceberg. I love a good conspiracy theory me!
