What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

1968 -UK first mono pressing...

Blood Sweat & Tears - Child Is The Father To The Man

Not sure if it was Cato or Hunstein (the guy who took that Bob Dylan’s Freewhelin’ album art cover photo) but a bit lazy on the creative side using The Byrds’s same black background for their album art cover.

(1966)

Big Hits (High Tide And Green Grass)

A very early best of compilation of 'Stones hits. This and the UK variant are both very fine albums, when you look at these hits up to '66 it encapsulates the music flavour of the 60's for those of us lucky and old enough to have experienced the revolution.

Tracklist

Fazil Say brings tremendous sonority, aided by generous pedalling, to Debussy’s and Satie’s most famous works. He remains one of today’s most interesting pianists, and is as interventionist as ever, but also a master storyteller. A great disc, even if you think you know these works well. Sound quality is perfect.

 Cheers

EJ

Vinyl released 1981 - Lovely and understated. 😎

I love the album, especially the fantastic Yeats setting Slouching towards Bethlehem, one of my favourite musicians honouring one of my favourite poets. (1991 release Imthink.)

Confessin’ the Blues compilation CD 2, WAV CD rip

1st listen to the second disc of this selection of the best of early blues, and it’s as good as the first. These guys could make a simple blues line on guitar or harp sound like joy or pain while being totally musical, my toes are tapping, fingers clicking. Great intro to the origins of the blues, and a great collected set for people who have most/all of them already. Fantastic job of selection by the strolling bones.

Streaming on TIDAL.......   going with the mention from EWEMON and playing the pre-released track from Mark newest album and following up with his first album release (non-soundtrack) and Mark is sounding mighty fine!

Doll by Doll - Doll by Doll -  Original U.K. vinyl.

Fantastic folky rock from the much missed Jackie Leven and his band. Some super pop/rock/folk songs, including the stunningly beautiful Main Travelled Roads, wonderfully played and sung. Picture taken to give some visual support to the where do you put your LP12 lid? thread, although that is a battered TMS lid.
