Where have all the cool people gone?

I used to live in Balham/Clapham borders. We sold our flat (3 years ago) for nearly 3 times what we paid for it (5 years previously).

Tooting is the New Balham.

There used to be a great chippy in Balham too.

Hoxton is a dreadful place.

My wife is into direct marketing and uses ACORN quite a bit, much more accurate than the usual ABCC2DE stuff. Strange is that although it's fairly accurate to with in 28 houses as yet I haven't found a category we fit into and we certainly don't fit our area profile.

Much cooler (in every way) than Tunbridge Wells. But you knew that, didn't you? Wink

I've dicovered that the cool centre of the universe is definitely not Kirrimuir, it's located 30 miles west at Crieff which has a nice Christmas shop.

And I still can't see a profile for "very poor, not working, owning own house in centre of town with massive hi-fi, no TV and expensive tastes" in the ACORN lists. Apparently Crieff is Type 39

Dave, my wife cares, its her job, (but not for much longer Big Grin )
