Ok,I have the Ginger Baker Trio'd 'Going back home', with Vharlie haden and Bill Frissell. Nice tunes, and good sound. I love the drum patterns that Ginger puts on the Disc and the bass from Charlie Haden, but Bill Frissel's guitar ... get's on my...
Just got back from the Dave Matthews concert at the Coors Ampitheatre in San Diego. Not a great start to the evening missing nearly an hour with the traffic and all but a bit of a disappointment. All the songs sounded the same to me - even "All along...
Anyone know if the version currently out is merely a cynical re-packaging of the version that has been available on CD for years or has the current release been re-mastered in some way? i.e. is the sound any better than the previous Decade CD?
After contributing to the Pet Sounds thread, and mentioning the resplendant 4CD box set, I am moved to wonder which other albums you think would benefit from the same treatment? Fun House has had it [haven't heard it but would be interested to hear from those who have] and you could say that Sgt Pepper & Revolver have had it [just] via the Anthology series. But what else deserves it? We're talking more than you ever wanted to know here ..... I would kick off with Ziggy Stardust - the current...
OK. many weeks ago I purchased from some poor schmuck on a booty the following: Black & White Blues - The Little Red Rooster Now this cost me a whole 30p, which I thought was a bit steep, but there you go. I havn't listenend to it untill today because when I first stuck it on it sounded awful, and I thought I had a dud. Anyhoo, today I cleaned it and it turns out it had a film of dust on it, almost like plaster dust or something, well now it sounds fantastic and I went through the whole...

This is a bit of a long shot, but hopefully someone will know. On holiday recently I heard an absolutely stonking trance track which I found out was a Sven Vath remix of Wham's Club Tropicana called Dub Tropicana. The track was released last year and...

Flicking through this forum it appears that most Naim owners are into the classical, jazz and easy listening side of things.Whilst I listen to odd bit of classical, I predominantly listen to Thrash/Death Metal, Punk, etc. Is anyone else out there into...

Just listened again to that live AC/DC and found out that their guitar sound was so wicked that they could have built their career on Madonna songs and still be a legend. Scrrreeechhhh ! Other guitar sounds I like are the ones of, say, Metallica,...
Well here it is, 27 years on this earth and music from the dire Rick Wakemans Journey to the excellent D&B of Big Bud. But alas a massive void in the collection. Mr Hendrix. But where to start? I notice on the shelves more best ofs than albums! To that end and my birthday on the horizen I have got my sister to purchase me the latest best of as featured in the Saab ads. However I fancy this won't get me the blues and voice of hendrix, which I know is good. so where to begin kind folks, what...

This Journeys by DJ (Coldcut JDJ) mix has recently been released and deserves a place in the collection of anyone who is into dance music. I bought the, since deleted, original back in 97 or 98 and unfortunately lost the cover after it was stolen by...
