See them at http://www.highdeftapetransfers.com/ Anybody tried 'em? And will they allow downloads to the UK anyway? I was interested in the Duke Ellington album but thought I'd ask if there was any experience of the quality of the resulting...
A fellow worker asked me to rip some of my cds in mp3 format into a memory stick. I realized i have quite a large number of "copy control" CDs with that band that freeze my software and don't let it handle tracks. I use Free Ac audio converter. Anyone...
Norwegian TV Documentary on Kirsten Flagsyad. [c.2009] In Norwegian and English with English subtitles. A surprisingly unhappy story of a career blighted by persecution from elements in the Norwegian Diplomatic Service, Tax Department, and frightful misconduct in the Judiciary, because her husband had been a Nazi sympathiser during the War. If you do not know this story it will come as a shock, and is a sad reflection on Norway in the immediate post 1945 years. ...
Sad to see Steve Strange has died of a heart attack at only 55. Saw him several times and Fade to Grey will always be the sound of my youth
This Wednesday, The Raptures first gig in a proper venue - and they may even be paid if enough tickets are sold! My Henry (he's 17) is the bass player - we're so excited! They even have proper tickets.
Just to confirm, the 'new'Rush vinyl &downloads, to be released this year, are new remasters. 'Fly by night' is the first of the downloads, and it is NOT the same as the previous 'Sectors'sourced release. Better sound quality, with higher DR values for those who care about such things. By-Tor... is also extended, with the bell treeat the end continuing for around 1 minute. Word of warning, the new blu-ray is still the Sectors mix, not the new...

http://www.whathifi.com/news/o...;utm_source=20150209 onkyomusic.com I've had a look and the prices are competitive. I also note there are some albums that have been region restricted in the UK, like Santana Abraxas, are available to buy on the site.
Years ago I only ever bought vinyl for my Rega Planar 3. Then CDs happened so I replaced large portions of my collection with the new format. Eventually I stopped buying albums and only bought CDs. A few years after that I even sold...
Can anybody who has downloaded this album from Sound Liaison explain to me how they got the album art on to Unitiserve. I have tried everything, Metadatics (where I can see the album art) the lot, with no success and I am losing the will to live!
Has anyone else heard the complete cycle given this week in Berlin? I caught it on the BPO website - streamed in good quality sound and picture. Rattle's Sibelius has gained in intensity over the years and the playing of the BPO was...

Fast to be sure, but he also seems to have great finesse and musicality.
just read a post at the computeraudiophle forum where a member recommends: Ansermt- de Falla: El Sombrero de Tres Picos (available from Qobuz). It has a grey-red-black cover. Of curiosity, I streamed it now and it's incredible good. Even if the music...

Next Friday (30th Jan) at 10pm on BBC4 there's a doc called Kraftwerk: Pop Art. No input from Ralf or Floz, but apparently lots of awesome clips, including the 'Werk jamming with Can in the early 70s, plus clips from the awesome 1981 tour, and the...
Which artists have you discovered later in life that you missed out of your library - when they were originally about and you were younger? For me 'The Grateful Dead' are a relatively recent discovery I can't believe I missed until 50 last...
Watching this well filmed performance of the Dave Brubeck quartet playing ''Koto Song'' that a friend of mine made me aware of, I thought that might be an idea for a thread. More suggestions please.
high resolution audio has been a bit of a journey so far. While quality varies, prices vary even more, and sometimes waiting makes sense. The most recent example is now Paul Lewis's new album which I bought last weekend for 17,50 Eoros at high res...
Are the Naim sampler cd's a mixture of music types or do they tend to be genre specific? I listen to rock mainly so was wondering which one would be best for me to have a play with on my setup.
Thanks
Has anyone listened to the new Naxos 2xHD issues? According to naxos, the master HD signal is converted to analogue using 'high end' equipment, EQ'ed, then reconverted into digital but at highest resolution PCM or DSD.
All this sounds very low end...
