Hi All, Listening to Radios 3 and 4 in stereo recently, I have found that the red stereo light blinks intermittently and ths sound goes squelchy. Then it returns to stereo after a few seconds. A bit later it does it again. If I manually switch to mono all is well. It's been incredibly windy recently but I've had a look and the aerial is still on the roof. Have you any suggestions please? Hi, ever since moving into my current place I have been plagued by a certain type of glare in the high frequencies. The first suspects were room acoustics (too much glass) and the gear itself (brighter than average). As I have learned is that while both were indeed a part of the problem, most of the problem is caused by a very noisy mains. Why am I sure about this? A couple of weeks ago, one of my friendly dealers dropped a parallel mains filter which effectively removed the glare.

I’d like to improve my Uniti Star, specially on the analogue side for my turntable. My speakears are the Audiovector SR3 signature. I’m thinking about one of the two options in subject, I listen both vinyl and ripped files (from my 2k CD collection) stored in NAS. what’s your pros and cons?

Would anyone be kind enough to share their thoughts on the SQ of this piece of kit. I have purchased one and take delivery in a week or so’s time. There has been lots of feedback on the ND555, which I would love to buy, but don’t quite have the funds. The NDX2 will be placed in a 282, 250dr, HiCapdr and XPS2dr to drive the streamer system. I'd like to find out if my NAC 52 has the MC compatible phone board fitted. Anyone know how to do this? Would Naim know If I gave them the serial No? What was standard fitment? Bruce

I have an HDX, XPS 2 power supply, 252 pre amp, Supercap power supply, 250 power amp, with a core containing all the music,at present I have a pair of over 25 year old Ruark Equinox speakers which have served me well,are they the weakest link? Hello everyone I'm about to update my old Ariva with the Neat SX1. I would like to keep the same timbre and the same aesthetics (type of case and finish) also for the surround as it is all in my living area. Currently I have the n-Sats. What do you suggest? Do I keep the n-Sats? or do I update them with the Neat iota (the little ones)? I would also ask another question: if I take the Iota for surrounds with what could I replace the n-Cent? Hi , I have just moved back to the UK from the US and my system arrived today and I was anxious to reconnect it all . I was feeling very smug that I had it all back together until I plugged it in and realized that it seems the PS for the NAP 300 hasn't been converted to UK power. Assuming I am correct how serious is the damage that I have caused ? I anxiously await feedback

I moved to a new flat a couple of months ago and I've been struggling with the balance of my speakers - they've been too bass-heavy and the treble has rolled off somewhat. I've played around with position and I've not been able to resolve it - until now. My speakers are stand-mounted and I've always used Blu-Tac to reduce contact and eradicate any vibration. In nineteen years of NAIM ownership I was able to convert only one young fellow who at the time was dating our daughter. The guy came from the East Coast and stayed with us for a few days. His switch from Simaudio to an XS integrated amp and a CD player occurred long time after his relationship with our girl had ended so no leverage had been applied and his decision was made strictly on the merits of the NAIM sound he heard in our place.

Hi guys Planning a speaker upgrade in due course and thinking about a budget between 5-6k System is NDX/Supernait2 Currently using Kef R500's and have used kef's for donkies years. Love the kef sound. Not asking for recommendations as I know it's a personal thing and room dependant but what I want to know is with that budget what specifications would you be working to, to compile a short list. Thinking about perhaps getting a pair of headphones to extend listening times ! 1) Are closed back headphones silent to other people in the same room? 2) I would wish the cable(s) to extend to up to 3 m from back of pre-amp to chair, is this possible, or are short cable runs desirable - I imagine headphones come with a fixed length cable say 1.5m - so I would have to have a cable from - pre-amp to headphone amp 1.5m ? It looks like the ND555 with two 555 power supplies is seen as the current top digital source from NAIM by quite a few. Just wondering if the CD555 also with two power supplies would now be considered a poor runner up? Douglas.

I’ve taken the plunge and I’m going to give vinyl a go. I’ve had a TT in the past so I still have a few albums around. I went cheap, Pro-ject Carbon Debut, just to have a TT around. If it turns out I like it I will upgrade at some point. I still need to get a phono stage. Thinking about a Rega Fono MK1 to keep it cheap. Any other cheap phono stages to keep an eye out for?

Currently running a CDX2+XPSDR. Am considering replacing CDX2 with NDX2. I note that NDX2 does not come with Burndy cable and cant remember if the one I have came with the CDX2 or XPSDR. I’m hoping to part-exchange so query is “does the existing Burndy go back with the CDX2, or just the link plug” ? is anyone familiar with the speaker settings on the UnitiCute2 when running a power amp. I had it set to “large”, but reading a blog on The Ear, it seems it should be set to “none”. I found the manual a bit confusing, so now not quite sure which is correct.

Would something that looks similar to and provides similar functions and SQ to the Uniti, from a competitor company, improve the product or just reduce the number of customers?
