Last time I looked there were 160+ but now it says 10. Where did they all go? steve
Your thoughts?
As the title says. I've always fascinated by the little creatures and it looks like an interesting hobby. Has anyone on here taken this up and If so would you share your experience please ? James
I'm not a user but everyone else I know seems to be on it constantly, what are peoples opinions?
Had a few mates round the other evening as we hadn't met up for a while. The conversation eventually turned to things we used to have when we were young and the topic of train sets and Scalextric came up. Well as it happens I still have some Scalextric up in the loft so down it came. After putting a circuit together and propping books up to make tunnels we had a great evening racing against each other while the beer and pizzas flowed. At one point even the cat joined in trying to remove my...
this may be a daft / naive question, however here goes... is it possible to simply use power adaptors on UK Naim equipment in USA (272 / 250 DR / CORE) or is there more to it than that ?
i know there are several dedicated coffee web sites out there - but I thought would be interested to compare notes with those more musically inclined. For most of my life until now I have not really liked coffee - but I now have discovered i really do rather like coffee after all - but it has to be made and prepared properly - and that appears to exclude the vast majority of hight street chain coffee shops, and roasted beans from supermarkets So I have got to talk to some local independent...
Forum rules do not allow selling, buying or wanted ads, or even offers of giving things away. Yet the Naim Facebook site has lots of for sale ads. Why the difference?
Take Facebook as another example... is it trying to promote a humanistic world?
Today I've noticed that every time it click on a thread to the most recent posting that I haven't read Hoopla seems to take me back to the beginning of the thread, or at least very much earlier than it should. Also, while I'm used to getting emails of new contributions to threads I'm following, today I seem to be getting 'alerts' as well. Perhaps it's just me, but I wonder whether some update has been done overnight which wasn't pre-announced. Moderated Post: MDS, see this thread: ...
Meet the new Doctor... Actually I quite like Jodie Whittaker and it will be interesting to see how things go. Mind, anyone would be preferable to Peter Capaldi who, IMO, has not been great in the role.
On the Telly - Just started now LIVE on Channel 24 ITV4 : ) Saturday 1st July: 14 Kilometre Individual Time Trial in Düsseldorf A kind of prologue for Stage 1 where we get a look at each rider in turn, and see how fast they can cover a fast and frantic 14 Km dash. Lets hope it's a good clean Tour this year with no serious crashes, and may the best man win! http://www.cyclingweekly.com/n...-france-route-192041 I don't generally support any particular Team in cycle racing but this year i...
After few years of messing about on our holidays we took the plunge (sorry) and bought two small touring Kayaks. We have a canal outside our front door with a long lock-free and beautiful section to explore. We will also try The Lakes and maybe some Lochs and sheltered Scottish coast where we used to explore the Munros. Dordogne, the Lot? We will see. We headed out yest pm and had a very enjoyable evening in the peace and quiet amongst the wildlife. Just need to practice the technique a bit.
On holiday and we have made new friends who just introduced me to 'OK Go'. They specialize in one-take (relatively) low budget videos which have been shown in various prestigious galleries around the world. Apologies if they are not new to others but the work is really quirky, clever and beautiful in a way. An early taster is this amazingly choreographed sequence. Their other videos are just as brilliant. G
Due to the number of missing pictures within system pics 2017 I wonder if it's possible to enable edit on this thread to allow members to find another picture hosting website and upload new pictures as it's looking like a grave yard.
A female hedgehog had decided to build her nest beneath a wild geranium plant in the border outside our front window. It seems a strange place, as it gets full sun all morning, but she seems happy enough. As it gets dark she pops out in search of slugs and other tasty items. If all goes to plan the young ones will appear outside the nest in three or four weeks time. We've put down a bowl of water in case she's thirsty and I hope she won't be upset when I mow the lawn, which entails the mower...
Since a few days I have a feeling that the fonts in the threads have become smaller, like if the resolution was not the same as before. Is it my eyes or there's some setting somewhere? Thanks Max
I am of no political persuasion, i am very distrusting of politicians in general and promises they make and break. But in my humble opinion, the country needs an effective opposition party? But in my memory, i can not recall a time when the Labour party has been in such a decline. Does Mr Corbyn actually know what he is doing and what is best for his party? Does he still have the support of long term labour members? Will the labour party ever again become an effective opposition, let alone...
Hope it’s okay to post here... but thought people might be interested but some might not have seen that Arcam have been sold to Harmon Industries. Interesting development? Good for Arcam or bad? Of course Harmon is in turn owned by Samsung. And Arcam have been owned by JAM Industries (I think) for several years now, they’ve not been truely independent for quite a while.
I'm reminded of the song the lunatics are taking over the asylum. I have 3 members blocked and can't seem to find a post where they are not prattling on and on and on. If I were Naim I'd be very worried but I suppose the reappearance of Adam M may be a sign of the empire striking back. .sjb
Just in case anyone was wondering. htthttp://www.openculture.com/2011/12/guitarist_randy_bachman_demystifies_the_opening_chord_of_a_hard_days_night.htmlp://www.openculture.com/2011/12/guitarist_randy_bachman_demystifies_the_opening_chord_of_a_hard_days_night.html
following latest updates from Naim about being near ready for full certification, it was also remarked that they Are also continuing with building multiple units ready for shipping. The programme is now so far behind programme that experts believe that the only way they can meet this new Demand is by building a new a Hadron collider and start splitting the atoms. SWMBO thinks I'm going deaf in my left ear. It does have ONE advantage, though ... I can't hear what inconsequential thing SWMBO is prattling on about when we're in the car with me driving (she's a non-driver) Seriously, though. I have noticed occasional difficulty hearing her as I say above. As it seems to be a variable thing, I suspect it may be conductive rather than 'nerve' deafness, but will go off and have it tested. Just haven't decided whether to go and see my GP or to one of the...
Just posted FYI - Comments welcome http://www.dailymail.co.uk/mon...c-vintage-hi-fi.html Best regards, Peter
Given that the fixtures are now out, I thought it would be appropriate to start a new thread. Listening to the radio when these fixtures came out, it was interesting that all the pundits were blithely carrying on as if the old order (Man U, City, Arsenal, Chelsea) had not been disrupted. All the "important" matches were these four plus Liverpool. No mention of the likes of Spurs, Leicester or WHU. I suspect the newspapers will be the same. But is the old order still tenable? There is no...
