My rear n-Sat speaker have been driven with a NAP150 up to now and sounded fine. Getting plenty of rear action when the material demands it but i was curious about upgrading the amp after reading a comment from Frank Abela about how much of a...
Having chopped in my AV2/DVD5/250.2/200/145 a couple of years ago for the simplicity of an Arcam AVR600 and (now) BDP300, suddenly a few days ago the Lipsynch went out horribly on the Sky input to the AVR through HDMI/digital coaxial audio, beyond...
A question about what the n-Vi digital output can be configured to do. From reading the manual it looks like the digital out can be configured to stereo - question is, if the n-Vi is playing a 5.1 mix will this "stereo" digital output be a mixdown of...
Hi Forummembers, I am a happy user of Nac152XS/NAP150XS/FlatCapXS/ND5XS and recently added some excellent (!!) Naim Allaes. Apart from wired streaming, I use the ND5XS as a DAC for various other source like Digital TV Set Top, Dune...
Finally replacing Sony XBR 40" inch CRT TV. I have no need for anything but the best possible picture quality. No internet, wifi, or even 3D. 60-65" preference. Any suggestions? Thanks!
I use a NAP-V175 for center and surround channels, and am preparing to move. In the new house, surface wire to the surrounds is not an option. I am told NACA5 is not suitable/not legal in-wall. Is there an ideal alternative product...
Hi there, have connected my DENON AVR to my NAC-N 172 XS via RCA. Works very fine – except one issue that drives me (or my neighbors) nuts. When I use the AV Fixed Option of the NAC the Volume is set to 69 – way down below maximum wasting a lot of volume necessary for louder sequences from blockbuster movies. Is limiting/fixing the volume to 69 normal? Does not make sense for me. The manual has no information on this and google doesn't help either. From the manual: AV Fixed Volume: Yes / No...
Sad news of Rays passing. He was a colossus, master of stop motion animation, a stamp of approval if the film had animation by Ray Harryhausen. An inspiration to so many animators to come. The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, Vally of the...
Hi all, can anyone recommend a 3d blu ray playerregardsGary
Lately I have become interested in thrillers that involve a man, a woman, transportation and a mystery! My collection of such movies is well worn out and I'm looking for new adventures. The films that rather capture the spirit I'm looking for...
Can anyone tell me please whether I can use a wireless headset with a PS3? I have one for use on my PC but I cannot get it to work with the PS3. Does the headset need specific hardware for the PS3 to recognise it? Can one buy an adaptor or must I...
A recent change of speakers to Focal Electra 1028be’s on my stereo system, see post in Hi-Fi corner, has given me the nice bonus of an upgrade on my home theatre system. Previous Focal dome 5.1 speaker set up, powered by a n-Vi, with other sources being a Sky HD box and Oppo 93BU. The system has now had the benefit of Focal 816WSEs replacing the front left and right domes and a REL Strata II replacing the dome sub. My dealer kindly adjusted all the settings etc. Rather curiously the first...
I've installed a DIN to RCA interconnect from N-Vi to NAIT and am getting very distracting buzz from the NAIT AV input set to unity gain. Goes away immediately when I turn N-Vi off. How do I fix? It is not apparent at loud setting but awful on...

Time has come to rearrange everything and clean up the snake pit of cables and power cords. I finally replaced my stolen Samsung TV with the new 46" 8000 model, friend came over to set up the prefs and discuss placement and cables. Tom is so...
Hello My trusty NAP 90/3 (combined with a NAC 92) has developed a fault in the left hand channel. I have decided I want to change it all for an AVsetup. There are various threads givng advise on linking an AV receiver pre outs to a naim pre...
Dear all, Please excuse my ignorance, I have been to the FAQ and used the search function but still do not find it clear enough. I understand the analogue side of the AV2 what goes in comes out. Any help and clarification would be most...

Academy Award for Best Picture went to Argo... I guess this was my preferred choice, too, in an overall quite weak line-up. What are your thoughts? Cheers, EJ
I have a DVD5 that plays DVDs fine, however I have discovered that it doesn't play CDs (when I tried to sell it to someone who wanted it to play CDs!). It's not worth much and certainly not viable to go back to the factory to fix. So any...
Renovating a house.
Opportunity to put in a retractable in-ceiling screen for future use.
Must achieve very neat finish when closed.
Viewing distance would be 3 m.
When down, screen would sit in front of speakers (this will be a Naim 2...
I need an analog interconnect to connect my DVD player to a Naim AV2 AV processor, so a pair of 4 RCA 5pin Din cables. Actually since I dont have rear speakers nor a center, and never will, is itbetter soundwise to get a 4RCA 5Din cable for...
