Streaming Audio

All i wish to have the ability to have Airplay capability as really enjoy the curated playlists but NDS obviously does not support this. Wondering What’s the best route to go without spending on an upgrade to Nd555 - my set up is NDS/555ps dr into 282/hicapdr/250.2. Grateful for suggestions. Thank you

Hello, I have a new USB backup for my Uniti Core. Some files successfully backed up to this hd are ripped cd's from the Core's internal hd. Other files (LP's) were successfully copied and pasted on to this new hd from yet another hard drive that I have. Also, a new folder was created and named for for these LP files. I’m using v5.11 of the Naim app on an iPad Mini (iOS 11.4), controlling an ND5XS, with MinimServer as my UPnP sever. For a while now, not just with the current version of the app, I’ve found the time display and progress bar at the bottom of the UPnP screen have a habit of freezing mid-track. I can coax them back into life by closing and reopening the app, but this rarely fixes the issue for more than a few seconds. Has anybody else experienced this issue and found a cure, please?

We are about to downsize from a large house to a condo in another state. I currently have a 1998-vintage system: Rotel components including a 200 w/ch power amp driving B&W Nautilus 803s. Also have approx 750 CDs, mostly classical. None of this will fit in the condo. Solution: I can get comparable or better sound from a Uniti Star and well-chosen smaller speakers, and enjoy streaming music as well. Rip the 750 CDs to a USB drive and all will fit. Hi there, I have an issue with the HX index order when I copy a classical piece for example available on two cds (or more). The track order seems correct on the download file but it appears in a different order on n-serve. I have tried to edit the tags by changing the track number, cd number ... but with no success. Any idea what the HDX is using to sort the tracks? Thanks a lot

Classical only streaming. Apple have an app but I’ve no idea if/how we can play it through the 555. Wait for Naim to add it or does Airplay have a use here? I’m rather distant from my 555 at the moment.

Recently I noticed a problem with trying to list music by artist with the Naim app which seems to only affect my iPad, and not my iPhone. Been using a little WD NAS with built in uPnP for ages, but its always been flaky and is now dying. I have a large FLAC collection, which is also held on my iMac. Looking at the new iOS app today I noticed the 'Mac' option on the input selections - not noticed that before, is it new? So.. Can I ditch the flaky NAS and simply stream from the iMac? I recently purchased a Uniti Nova and Core combination and have an issue with the placement of the Core. My router is in a completely different room to my listening room where the Nova is located. Having forked out near £2,000 for the Core I want to have it displayed on my equipment rack alongside the Nova and not in a different room sat underneath my TV next to a Virgin Media router and TV box. i ripped my CDs - over 1000 plus - to uncompressed FLAC using an old dell laptop with dbpoweramp. is this the best way to do it? i was going through some old posts and they seem to indicate unitiserve rips CDs better? is that true? if true, still i doubt i will invest 1000 dollars on a unitiserve. whats the next best option? appreciate the insights.

Has anyone tried out airplay2 to play multiroom on multiple devices? I follow the instructions in the Home app (apple) but Atom neither Mu-So are recognised as room; they are in the same network as my Ipad. In the app there is also a possibility to set a code or scan a QR but the implementation of Airplay2 has been via upgrade Naimapp.

I had an e-mail from RP politely reminding us about supporting them. I am at a loss to update the app. Got to Google play where I read :- "PEGI 3" "Installed" When I open the app it states app version 2.7.0 I thought it was meant to be 2.8 ? Do I have to uninstall the app and start again? Thanks

Just recently the app has been hit and miss when trying to find the muso on my i-pad. It is connected with ethernet on a netgear 8 port splitter and TP Link across the mains. And before anyone mentioned that that is the problem it has been fine previously and also my other stuff like the TV and blu-ray players etc are fine. A side benefit to the new ND555 on my Fraim is that it was "Roon ready." So I signed up for a trial subscription and downloaded Roon Core to an unused Macbook Pro. I pointed it to my music store on my QNAP nas and let it do it's thing. And put the Roon app on my iPhone and iPad. 1. My library of 1560 albums was indexed pretty quickly. When I listened to iRadio on my NDS there was a "stop stream" button on the Naim App. Now that I'm running the ND555 that option has vanished from the app. How exactly do I stop iRadio short of switching sources or turning off the streamer? Am I missing something?

hi all, as i dont buy cds anymore, my nas music storage does not change. I was wondering how it would work if i simply copy the nas onto a usb ssd and plug directly into the streamer. It would cut out the network, unitiserve, nas etc from the chain so much simpler... 1) is this same, better or worse SQ? 2) does using it/ browsing etc happen precisely as with upnp and its possible to do playlists across tidal and usb?
