Streaming Audio

I've recently upgraded to fibre broadband, and now find that n-Serve, which I use to control my HDX, acting as a ripper / streamer to my NDS, no longer sees any of my music. It's all viewable via the front screen on the HDX, but no information appears on the n-Serve app. (I'm using n-Serve, rather than the Naim app, since the HDX is directly connected via TOSLink to the NDS). Can anyone tell me if there are remotes codes that are available that could be used with a harmony remote for selecting specific inputs rather than having to use next and previous, and the same for radio presets. I’d like to incorporate my miso with the resto my equipment but the lack of selecting specific inputs makes it unusable. I can do it with the iOS remote app, but this is not integrated and I find the process too slow

Since the 4.6 upgrade my ND5XS 'forgets' the wireless network after a while. Most of the time after it hasn't been used for a while, or whenever the DHCP releases the lease on an IP address. I don't know which is the most likely, since I cannot test it. Powering off/on resets it, but it is a nuisance. Network setup hasn't changed. Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Had a friend over today, and demoed my Naim system - which is now hardwired to the Vortexbox by CAT6A - performed flawlessly. I followed the advice on this board and installed Roon on my PC and iPad. I’m hoping this will solve the problem of classical CDs ripped on my Unitiserve not showing up under the name of the composer. I was able to,find the folder on my pc with all my ripped discs and set that up on Roon. My problem is getting Roon to play those CDs through my system. I have got rip failed files in the Uniti Core after ripping CDs. Unity Core will stop when it plays these files and annoys me. I need to disconnect its power in order to resume its function. Now, I stop listening to those albums which contain one or more failed files. Hope to find a way to delete those failed files?

Hi , I just bought an ex demo NDX today and I just can’t get it to work. I previously had ND5 XS which worked fine. The i radio keeps cutting out as does Tidal. The NDX frequently isn’t found by the Naim app. Can it be the connection to the router? The ND5 worked perfectly so surely it can’t be this?? This is so frustrating !!!! Any help would be much appreciated . Thanks

Hello Experts I have a new issue with Nova on 2.6.1 , earlier HDMI arc connected to Samsung TV was working fine on 2.6.0 for 2 months no issues. Now it shows no signal found, and i feel it could be cause of 2.6.1 upgrade. Has anyone seen this, any help? Cheers! HiFiNewbie

Hi, I am a new user of Core. It is wire-connected to my home network. And within the network, I have two more NAS on it — Synology 916+ and IO-data Soundgenic. The Naim app sees the Soundgenic without issue but not the Synology that I am planning to put the backup onto it. Searched the forum and found no solution. Just a quick one guys, the indicator lights in the middle of my Uniti Star volume knob are not the same colour as the light ring around the base of the control. Ive got two Muso’s and on both of them the volume indicator lights on the top are the same shade of white as the light ring around the base of the knob. On my Star the light ring is the normal “cool” white but the volume indicators on the top are a “warm” white and do not match, is this normal?

Hi I have been trying for last 2 hours to connect my laptop to my nac 272 in order to stream music. I downloaded kodi and asset and have no idea how to connect so that music from laptop gets played on nac 272. I am a newbie to this tech so please can someone help. My sky router has upnp enabled. How do i get both devices to sync? I do not need a nas drive as have 2tb of space on my harddrive, windows 7 is installed.

Hi, I a new user of Uniti Core and Naim product. Still familiarizing myself with the features and functions of it. There's a post saying that the new firmware 2.6.1 is available and I see people using and discussing it. However, thru the Naim app on my iPad, it says 2.5 (9144) is the up to date firmware. SInce I installed the new app (5.10) on two iPhones and an iPad I'm getting pop ups every few days telling me I've got Google Analytics turned off and telling me I can turn that feature on. I know it's off, I turned it off so I don't need reminding. Is anyone else seeing this and is this a bug ? I'm sure it's not in the spirit of GDPR to keep pestering me so I'm guessing it's a bug. I Just received an Auralic Aries streamer, upgrading from a Bluesound Node 2. Both devices are set to defeat volume control, sending data over toslink to the 2Qute and then the Supernait 2. To my great surprise, the volume from the Node 2 is significantly lower – and I am wondering: how could that be? I was under the impression that a streamer, w/o any volume control, would send identical 1s and 0s to the DAC (the 2Qute certainly isn’t making any volume decisions)... but clearly that is not...

I have a Naim Superuniti playing through Naim Allaes and I’m thinking do adding a Naim Unitiserve SSD which is a pre owned unit, I have tried ripping my CD collection to my Apple IMac but it’s always a bit of a faff to play anything through it as I mostly stream music through Spotify. I am about to move house and I am having a new network installed which will be quite different to what I have now I understand the benefit of having a switch between my NDX and the router but in the new setup logistically it would help if I could also plug my Intel NUC (for Roon) and my NAS (for back-up) into the same switch. I have a CD5 XS for source material. Would an ND5 XS give higher quality music? What does it do that a computer hookup does not. Are there 24 or 32 bit master recordings that it can access? Are all recordings today done in 24 bit digital? How can I justify the cost of an ND5, or NDX or the ref model. I am looking to get the highest SQ possible or do I have to go vinyl. This is weird as I've never had issues until today. The Nova is being detected by the Qobuz app for Airplay playback, but no longer for Chromecast output. I've restarted the iPhone and the Nova (unpowered) as well as the router. I think there's a new Naim app out today but I've not downloaded as I can't see that would make a difference. I can't remember if I used to be disable Chromecast in the Input settings of the app, but there's no option for that now.
