Streaming Audio

I've just purchased a Uniti nova and am very happy with the sound. However, after a couple of weeks the album cover image on the front remained stuck on a previous image. I’m told naim are aware and trying to resolve the problem but I would like to know if other nova owners have experienced similar problems and if so are there any indications when an update will be issued.

I have almost 2000 albums ripped on a Unitiserve and stored on a NAS as WAV's . For a number of reasons I am thinking of moving away from the Unitiserve. However, when I try and apply either MimiServer or Asset UPnP to those UnitiServe rips then whilst all tracks are picked up only about 10% are recognized as albums - can anyone provide any insight here please ? Looking for suggestions on ways to organize playlists within the CORE. Alphabetical? I seem to be stuck with the order being the date created...newest at the top of the list. I do see within the Naim app NAC 272 PreAmp you can organize the Tidal playlists in Alphabetical order. All ideas welcome.....

Hi all. I recently decided to leave Tidal not that I was displeased with the service I just didn't use it enough. I duly ended things with them and they sent me a goodbye message but since then I keep getting emails about them having problems in them receiving my payments. I have of course put a stop to them with my bank which I am grateful I did for as they haven't actually switched me off yet. Anyone else had any problems ?

Hi, Today I was a bit shocked. All of a sudden my music was changing and Spotify started to play a song and the music went louder. I was stunned. Then a girlfriend of mine sent me a WhatsApp message asking me "Can I control your music from here?". She said that my SuperUniti was still available (from the last time she was here) in Spotify and then she chooses that one and it worked. Now she is DJ-ing for me from 90KM away which is kinda nice but I don't think this is supposed to happen.

Hi all since updating to the new firmware I have come across a really nasty bug which affects my Atom, not sure if it does on other units. If I use an external input either digital or analogue and then switch to Internet radio the volume blasts out at an incredibly loud volume for a few seconds before normalising to the units volume setting. All, Can't find using the app if you can disable inputs on the above. Namely Spotify. As some of you may be aware, once you have allowed someone access to your Wi-Fi, they can control your HiFi from 100's of miles away using Spotify. A frightening thought when/If you use a streaming pre amp or have the remote cable between your steamer and amp like I used to(NDX&SN2). Altho I have turned Spotify off on the NDX too. This sunny weather has made me realise that, when browsing by albums, although the album name is white and readable, the artist name is in a very faint grey and difficult to read. It would be helpful if the latter was altered, or made customisable.

I am part-x'ing my HDX and want to transfer the music to a NAS. I have been told I need to translate the files into FLACs before I do that but do not know how to do it. To make matters more complicated, In currently use a WD Cloud device but am about to change (thank you to the Forum members for your advice) to a QNAP 253. Will I easily be able to move the files from the WD to the QNAP?

Am considering getting a preamp and streamer, and wondering what the rough equivalent to the streamer quality in the 272 is in the current Naim range. I know it's being updated, so I'll try to pick up something older and preloved until the new ones come out - but how far down the range do I go, if the 272 is roughly what I want to listen to? Well, i have been looking through the forum to try and help. my HDX says 'starting' have it running on a fixed ip ........101 for screen and ........100 for server. have turned everything of the network apart from my router, and still no joy. with the laptop plugged in and using lan scan, the screen is on the ip address, but no sign of the server (checking mac dresses) any help would be appreciated, i have been at this for a number of hours Help

i have been using tidal for a couple of months and i notice that when using the naim app it won't play some albums. thse tend to be complations the app just stops or perhaps it slows so much it looks like it has stopped. it works fine on a pc. any ideas what i happening here?

For a DAC like Chord's Qutest that offers both USB and S/PDIF (BNC) inputs, is the Allo USBridge or the DigiOne the better route? From reading online, I am under the impression that S/PDIF is preferred over USB, but Chord appears to recommend USB -- this leaves me somewhat confused... Has anybody compared the two Allo products or similar ones? Cheers!

How does the Uniti Nova stream Tidal? With the Nova hard-wired to internet it still seems to require the Tidal app on my iOS device to be on and Chromecast’ing over WiFi. For example, turning off my phone or putting it in airplane mode causes playback on the Nova to eventually stop even though its connection to the internet is unaffected and the Naim app is configured with Tidal credentials. The Naim app on my Android phone no longer is able to my 2yr old Naim Mu-so. I am a techo numpty so know very little on how to resolve this other than the usual switching off my Virgin router (latest model) and resetting my Naim Mu-so. Well, I see that the venerable HDX is no more :( Mine is a 2x500Gb system from 2011, and had the hard drives and the optical drive replaced under warranty a couple of years ago.
