Streaming Audio

i use dbpoweramp to rip cds to a Qnap NAS. I find I can’t find the newly ripped album ... it takes 12-24 hrs before the tracks are listed on the Naim app. I am wonder if this normal? The Qnap is the TS 412 and is 75% full. but I have the same issue is with the backup Qnap TS 231, which is half full.

Can a hicap be used as the power supply for a 272? if so, anyone tried it? if so, does it improve the sound much/at all/none?

Am currently trying to refresh my old Naim kit with newer stuff. Love the new style of the newly released streamers, and may even leap in early to these - but which preamp would be good with an NDX 2 - a 282? That price combination is quite high tho, so if there's another good option I'd like to hear it. Going into 250 DR and easy to drive speakers. My other option is the 272 which is a lot cheaper - and maybe upgrade later..... (but that always costs more!)

Can anyone recommend a provider to convert MP3 to FLAC? I looked online and was troubled by the invasiveness of what I saw

Looks like the album cover is stuck on the front screen on Beck's one ... Whatever the album I listen to (via Tidal) it's now virtually Beck singing :-) Has anyone this bug too? How do I solve that? Full reset?

So I have been unable to play Spotify on my Mu-so using wi fi. I believe that the recent update should have resolved this issue but when I go to "check for updates" on the Naim app the page just hangs. I am connecting via a Virgin Media Super Hub 3.0 but now also have BT Whole Home wi fi. Any ideas as to how I can complete the update please? Thanks

Hello - lately, when trying to stream Spotify, I've been having problems. When I select it on my 272, I get a message which says Error - Can't contact Spotify server. When I stream it from my iMac, Spotify works just fine, except of course I can't control it from the Spotify app. My network seems to be working just fine. Any ideas what might be the problem?

Hello Titans. Over the last few days I've been unable to play TIDAL via the Naim app on my SU. To attempt a fix, I've updated my payment information, reset the password, rebooted the router, my Apple Time Capsule, the SU and my iPhone all to no avail. As I have mostly been listening to UPnP since upgrading firmaware to 4.6 on my NDS, tonight is my first proper extended listen to Tidal and it is sounding very good, better than I remember pre 4.6. I would be interested to understand if 4.6 had any update within it intended to improve SQ of Tidal rather than just addressing Tidal stability. Maybe someone from the 4.6 beta testing team can say if Tidal SQ was part of the 4.6 evaluation. Anyone else heard an improvement on Tidal post 4.6...

Hello, I hope I am not asking something I could have found somewhere in the forum (I search and did not seem to find the answer). I have purchased a Naim Unity Star, of which I am totally happy. I love the edit function when ripping CD, I also learned how to manually drag files in the folder so that they will show up in the library. Is it me not finding the way to do it, or once files are manually imported in the external HD, there is no way to edit the metadata as you can do with a ripped...

Just wondering what others do. I only use Tidal now, so I always switch off all inputs in the settings menu (i.e. digital, analogue, hdmi, USB, airplay, Chromecast...). Also standby I used to set to 5 mins, but wondered if setting it to never, always keeps thing warm, like the old days (only power on and off, no standby). I recall someone quoted energy consumption. Shame Naim have still not delivered the fabled display off. Clock on in standby would be nice.

Have just discovered I can stream Soundcloud from my Liv Zen network player via Logitech Media Server not the last word in sound quality but huge archive of music. Listening to Bobby and Steve live @ Soul Heaven at the moment and really enjoying it.

I have recently installed Asset as a replacement for Twonky (due to too many album cover issues with Twonky). All seems to work well with 1 exception. When using Twonky I had a number of albums with multiple artists. In Twonky they showed up under Various Artists, but with Asset each song show up under every individual artists. After checking this forum I found the solution to add the artist to the song title/description and make all the artists into "Various Artists" They now all show up...

I have noticed that I have to turn the gain up a little more to achieve the same volume on my 272 after the firmware update. Used to average 35-40 on the gain and now its more like 40-45 to get average 85db. Anyone else? Is there a setting I could have altered? I use Asset/Q-NAP. Rest of system is listed. Thanks

Having followed the lengthy discussions about the merits of the 4.6 firmware update I decided to take the plunge yesterday and update my UnitiQute 2. Hi, At the mo' my HDX is used for ripping /server duties, and it backs up all ripped CD's to it's own second internal drive. As I realise that this is not the perfect backup solution, I am, at present, creating a second backup to an external NAS. Does anyone know if it is possible to have the HDX create backups to two separate locations, to save having to do this manually? Thanks, Dave.

Dear Community..... this is my first post! I have a V1 in my office. The speakers are B&O Beolab 8000 powered speakers that connect to the V1 via L&R RCA analogue out. This all works beautifully. Question : I have an unused B&O Beolab 1 powered subwoofer and I am wondering how I might also connect the subwoofer directly to the V1 ? In addition, the sub needs a 12v trigger to turn on and off. Any assistance to solve this little puzzle would be greatly appreciated.
