Streaming Audio

Has anyone come up with a way to copy presets among the "old" Uniti series? I've a UQ2 that's moved to my study but I'd like to copy the presets to the SU. (Or should I bite the bullet and set up the stations on an M3U on my NAS?)

My network is configured with a BT Home Hub upstairs and an Edimax extender downstairs. The two connected by Powerline. Connected to the Edimax by wire is my NAS and Unitilite. Connected upstairs via wifi is my Muso QB. From an audio point of view everything is fine. The SSID for the Home Hub and the extender is the same. I have noticed on the Unitilite display that it lists the same SSID twice? My problem arises when trying to access the Unitilite from upstairs using the Naim app. It can’t...

any idea of the year original UQ came from factory with 24/192 board? What serial number started or close to it? Thanks

This is driving me round the bend. The driver, when it does install says CP 2102 and not 2101, as specified in the instructions. Then, when the Naim app starts running it doesn't find the port. I'm using a new Macbook and the USB mini cable has a standard USB on the end that i then have to connect to my laptop through an adapter, to connect to the lightning port. Could this be the problem? Two hours wasted last night. Will i have to sacrifice the whole weekend on something that should be so ...

The title is deliberately provocative; there is a simple test to check whether higher / lower resolution effects are audible which eliminates variables like mastering etc and which, to my knowledge, is not used as much as it ought (in my view at least) to be used: 1. take any high resolution track and make transfers of the same track in lower resolution. I would take a 24 96 well recorded track and make a CD quality, MP3 320 and MP3 192 "copy" of it. Being a PC user I would do that on...

Just in case anyone has missed it Chris on comnputeraduiophile has given space to Archimago to so a summary of his position / research on MQA. Good, loooong condensation of subject matter that is spread over a number of locations. For those of you who haven't followed Archimago he is not enamored of MQA, and does present research to back up his contentions. Chris, who is comnputeraduiophile, has been (from memory) quiet positive. Personally I use a R2R NOS dac that doesn't truly process...

Recently been getting annoyed at Tidal to the extent that was thinking of canning it. Work from home a lot so listen to mu-so in the office and it usually stalled for a few seconds in the morning and in the afternoons pretty much gave up as i could normally get about 20 seconds before it stopped entirely. Even wired up ethernet to my mu-so! (NDX is already wired) Found out that the Tidal server is actually hosted by my ISP so it was only 4 hops and didn't go out onto the internet, was in the...

Before the last firmware update the Naim App showed 24 bit / 48khz for Tidal Master Albums. Now the info show always 16/44.1 so I asked to Naim what's wrong. The answer is: "before the update it was reporting incorrect data. It has now been fixed so what you are seeing is the correct properties for the track. HD streaming through TIDAL masters is not an available function and never has been" so, no Tidal HiRes streaming with Naim? incredible...

Hi I have been using Roon and managed to build configure and install an RPi with the Digi+ Pro board ..... I am feeding this to the NDS via coaxial ..... presently, and the unit is powered by a decent little IFI psu. Everything works great ...... but I can certainly tell the difference between the NDS stream and the RPi endpoint. I will be fitting the BNC s/pdif socket shortly ..... I hope this might improve things...... Has anyone else got any ideas ..... to lift sound quality........I...

Well updating my NDS went like a dream (once I had found the driver from SILABS), updating three of my 'Qutes also went well but slowly. But my older 'Qute has RS232 dock, and the Prolific driver link does not work and the FTDI driver does not install even with the helper enabled. Any suggestions?

Have been using a Nova for a little while and here are some improvements I can name. Really like to hear your feedback and what you may suggest also. Please note that I am mostly using Spotify and otherwise my own CDs, internet radio, optical, Apple play, chrome cast or HDMI to the lesser degree. Haven’t moved to such as Tidal yet. 1. Font face can be improved across the board. 2. Both time as well as volume font face can be better. 3. Black on the LCD screen isn’t black and always show a...

Any news anywhere about the possibility of inclusion of the streaming service Qobuz on NAIM-streamers? Why does NAIM only support a CD- or high-res quality streaming service that is owned by a bunch of rappers and that seems to be very much focused on glorifying gang related violence every single time you open their app or navigate to their home page? Or may be any suggestions on how to enable un-compromised listening to Qobuz?

I started a post a few days ago about my frustrations around sorting my library. Basically I want David Bowie to appear under B but as David Bowie, exactly the way I used to find his records and CDs in HMV or the way he would be listed in my address book - not complicated, demanding or unusual. I discovered that I can use MusicBrainz Picard to add a new tag called 'Album Artist Sort' to achieve this for most (but not all) albums (no obvious pattern) but it deletes the Album Name for FLAC but...

Dear guys, I tried a search on the Forum but could not find anything similar... Today i had a long session on listening. I did so by using the Qobuz App (Sublime Abonnement) on a google nexus 7inch Tablet streaming via chromecast to the unity (on wireless lan). Several times (4-6 times) the Uniti switched off by itself. I could not find any pattern.... I never had this by streaming via ROON or BubbleUPnP.. Can anyone confirm this Problem, or maybe have a solution for this? Greets to all and...

Have just sold the ndx and am ready for the ndx 2. In the interim, I borrowed an allo digione player. Current setup: ifi ipower > Allo digione player > belden 1694A digtial cable > NDAC > SN2/Hicap DR > DNM resolution speaker cable (4m) > Harbeth SHL5 What a joy it is to use the Allo didgplayer running on Volumio controlled with Lumin app. With the ifi ipower powering the Allo, the vfm for this player is out of the world. Difference between the ndx and Allo is that the NDX...

It's pretty damn good isn't it? I signed up for a year just before Christmas 2017, and within minutes trashed my Roon Core Macbook Pro with a glass of Christmas cheer. Roon team were fantastic, refunded my subscription on request and offered another extended trial when I wanted it which I took advantage of recently. Having added some older (poorer quality) audio libraries to the Roon environment quickly to test it, it really does seem to hang together well - I play an album and there are...

I've been using Core to play a range of music files, but through editing some of the files, decided to use the app facility to "rebuild music database", to apply some of the naming changes I'd created. All was playing OK beforehand, but after applying this setting, only some of the music files have reappeared via the app to play. The remaining files are still on the Core as I can see them all via the network and file explorer on my pc. I have tried re-booting the Core, rebooting the server...

Hi Not sure my title here is the best but I am wondering about the theoretical quality difference between native third party streaming apps: Why should Tidal sound better than Qobuz/Deezer assuming they are streaming the same quality. I am thinking Tidal is better because it is 'Naim' rather than Chromecast? Is it processed better or something. What advantage do the inbuilt Chromecast services (Spotify / GPM) offer over say Deezer which can be steamed using chromecast but is not inbuilt.

Hello - I was following a topic where a forum member was trying a Chord Dave. I've completely lost the discussion. I have a chance to pick up a demo black Dave with stand at a good price. I plan on connecting it to my Core with a BNC cable, then analogue output from the Dave into my 272. Any thoughts on this?

I face some problem on streaming music from my NAS via naim-App. While I can access the music directly via remote control on my Uniti 2, and while I can control, e.g., the CD drive or internet radio via naim app, I can not access the NAS via app. Not accessing NAS seems not to be limited to a certain UPnP server as both installed (Synology, Logitech Media Server) show same behaviour: Display on iPad shows messages „Error. Skip track“ and then „Not playing“ (well, my translations).

Has anyone compared NDX/XPS vs NDX/NDAC and what were the findings regarding sound quality. Thanks

I wonder if someone can help? I have a box set of 5 CDs that I am trying to rip. The set is Mozart Divertimenti, published on the Teldec/Warner Classics label. The first disc ripped without problem - as did the second disc. When I ripped the third disc, it replaced the second. Likewise, when I ripped the fourth disc, it replaced the third. The tracks of each disc appeared in the ripping summary, but when I went into Newest Discs I found that the earlier disc had disappeared. Changing some of...

Regarding sound quality only, there are differences streaming HiFi Tidal audio from chromecast buil-in (remote by iPad) or from Naim App? again for chromecast, I know that iPad is a remote only (no streaming audio between tablet and Naim), so where I can set the Tidal sound quality (HiFi, etc.)? Thank you.
