Hi there. I'm an absolute newbie to the Atom and have only just go into HiFi, so please bear with me. I've ripped my CD collection in FLAC onto an external hard drive which i connected to the Atom via the front USB. Works perfectly. However, i don't seem to have any control over sound apart from volume and left/right speaker controls via the Naim App. Id like to know if there is any way that i can adjust bass/treble/equaliser. Thank for your help

My NAC172 "drops out" of BBC HD radio (either iBBCRadio2 or 3 ) within 15 minutes or so some evenings. During the day, it doesn't disconnect. My PC has no such problems, staying connected to Radio 3 on BBC Radio Player in HD-mode - it works all day and all night. I've contacted Naim to ask whether the buffer size on the NAC172 needs increasing by a software update, to cope with the increasing vagaries of internet traffic and bandwith (whatever that is), but I'm really just guessing at a...

My current long serving and long satisfying setup is both analogue (Roksan X Artemiz ATOC9) and digital (CDX) sourced. They sound different, but both very good. Amplification is NAC72/HICAP/NAXO/HICAP/NAP250+NAP250 actively driving a pair of Credos. I am currently contemplating the daunting prospect of making the move to audio streaming, so far my only dabbling into this arena is via an apple airport feeding an input on the 72. The quality of replay from this has been frankly underwhelming…...

Hi. I have an Atom, 2x Qb and a Mu-So and the Atom is completely unreliable in multiroom a) when any other speaker is that master the Atom keeps dropping the sound then picking it up again - completely randomly. b) as per the Naim website, I make the Atom the master, no other speakers show in the multiroom window. Wireless or wired network, makes no difference... Any ideas? It’s really annoying....

When playing a Tidal playlist compiled using the Naim App, playback always starts with the first track in the playlist, even when shuffle is activated. Request in future versions of the Naim App that playback starts with a random track when shuffle is already activated.

If i convert an MP3/4 file on NAS to Flac how long will it take Uniti Atom to see it ? When and how does the app update the library ?

This morning,I listened some music on radio paradise in cd quality (flac)...what shocked my was the punch of their recordings! I comared it directly with my ripped cd stuff and found out, that they must be on steroids ;-) Do they use "loudness" tricks or something like that? My ripped music sounds like and old, cold coffee.....

There has been some discussion of the use of fibre optic cables for network isolation, and of Cisco switches, most of which have SFP ports, recently, so I thought I would post my findings on this. I’ve been running a fibre optic network for a couple of years now, prompted by the fact that out phone line has been hit by lightning twice now, and on the first occasion it destroyed everything with a wired connection to the router, including a Unitiserve. Using optical connections seemed like a...

Hi, I've ripped about 500 CDs onto a recently acquired Unitiserve. I have downloaded music on a laptop. Can I transfer files from laptop to the Unitiserve via Window Explorer? Can't try it as I don't have a USB to USB cable to hand! Thanks Gordon

Hi I was wondering if its possible to have gapless playback via uPnP on the Atom. I have bubble upnp server setup and have set the Atom as a openhome device and enabled gapless playback but it did not work. Should it work with the Naim app itself (not a fan of it so trying to use an alternative) or has anybody else got this working with gapless and if so what are they using. I have a QNAP nas which runs Squeezbox with upnp enabled and BubbleUpnp.

I'm not sure I'm posting this to the right section of the forum and I've been browsing through the forum to get any info but have not managed so far. So I do apologise in advance if I'm repeating some other postings. I am lucky enough to have a Uniti Nova in my living room and a Muso in my bedroom and really happy with them both. I'm using iOS Naim app to control both. My issue is that after using Nova with the app and turned it off, next time I launch the iOS app to use the Muso, the Nova...

Hello everyone, I've just joined the Naim fold, having picked up a HDMI equipped atom this afternoon. I've not really had the time to crank it up yet (young child settling to sleep) but will do so tomorrow however I've been testing some of the functionality, in particular the HDMI stuff. Up to now, I've been using a denon receiver from a few years ago (AVR 4311 if it matters) and in preparation for moving to a stereo setup, have set it up as I would the naim, HDMI to the ARC port on the TV...

I use Tidal Hifi 95% of the time and the other 5% USB (128GB) into my Nova. So i am kind of thinking unless i suddenly start to rip all my old CDs (all on Tidal) and start buying lots of new CDs (all on Tidal) there is no point for me. I agree based on my USB listening to HiRes downloads are better than Tidal. However for ease and flexibility between my Nova and on the go (car/mobile) i prefer Tidal (or the best HiRes stream source in can get). Any thoughts ?

Does anyone know if Qobuz wil be integrated into the Naim software for streaming with my N272. Before I used Qobuz with my Bluesound box, but now I have to use Tidal....., a lot of rap music etc, but I really mis the real Qobuz music passion!!!! Come on Naim, as a serious music lover, please integrate Qobuz in your application!!

Can the Uniti Atom drive speakers whilst also driving an integrated connected to preamp out?

Hi I have a 250 gb usb solid state harddrive that I can plug into my 272 front panel to play tunes It doesn't show the titles properly or art work at all When streaming from my Nas drive it works ok I assume this is because I don't have a "roon?" Type program on the usb drive? Is there a free program that I can just dump on the drive that will sort this out so it all works ok though the naim app? The Nas came pre installed with a program so I didn't have to worry about it Any help appreciated

Many may be like me... I've got a ND5XS. Too old for the jazzy new Roon malarkey. However, not all is lost. If an album that I'm curious about doesn't have enough info behind the picture on my Tidal account, I can still find out all about it. Plus link it to other connected info if I want. And the name of this miracle? Ahem. Wikipedia.

AAC / WMA format are adopted by many internet radio stations as the standard streaming format with bit rate varying from 48k to 320k. It is therfore essential that NAIM ATOM radio app is made compatiable to provide native support for these radio stations which at this present moment is not. Naim technical support should immediately look into this matter and rectiify the firmware.

I hear through the grapevine that the Roon Nucleus and Nucleus+ are now available. Although I've been a bit luke warm about Roon as a glorified metadata source, I have to admit that it does what it sets out to do rather well, and now that they are in the hardware market, I wonder if this product might be a serious contender as a music server. I understand that you can use internal, network, or USB storage with it, which might make it a rival for the Core, Melco, and other music servers. More...

Just noticed something today. Probably always been like that, but ... I routinely rip to FLAC, but today when I fired up my mac to edit some metadata on a Toots Thielemans box set I recently acquired, I noted that the 'kind' as reported by mac finder was 'mp3medias'. File type is still quite clearly FLAC (usual .flac extension). I assume that macos thinks flac is some kind of mp3, but why? I'm sure my files are flac, so it must just be a mac oddity. Incidentally, Toots was a superb harmonica...

here’s a puzzle which i’m sure isn’t new. my bt home hub is on the other side of the house. decent hifi router cabling for that distance would cost me the same price as a new house! currently connected ndx by hard wire to bt mini hub, which is (i think) using ring main to move signal around the house. is this generally frowned upon, and should i b getting another bt socket put into my house, nearer the naim set up? many thanks for looking
