Streaming Audio

I bought Naim Uniti Nova around a week before and was happy with the SQ. But the airplay always disconnected and struck the network in Naim (use wifi). Talked to the dealer and got a replacement yesterday. happy using for a day and find no more issue on airplay connection. but I encounter another more serious problem now - music from whatever inputs, regardless of wifi or wired, are dropped with the blinking light on the play/pause button on the panel. You can refer to the video below for...

i know this is ancient but that's what i still use to stream with as i've moved-all-in to vinyl about 5 years ago. i'm pretty confused with all the Naim boxes that offer this these days and all i really would like is a simple player that i can attach a hard drive to or that has an internal one i guess and that hopefully can be controlled from my laptop a bit like iTunes (maybe too much to ask there but). no amp needed, no dac even as it's going to a supernait, i don't even need it to stream...

Hi All, New to Naim as have very recently purschased a Muso system. I must say I am absolutely delighted with it and have been enjoying hearing my music properly again after making do with a small Denon speaker for the last few years. I have set up my free tidal trial and happily been streaming from my phone as well as using my Spotify account. However I also downloaded the tidal desktop app for my laptop hoping that I could access master quality audio. I’m not sure how to get this working?

Good morning Inexplicably my NDX has 'error use naim app' then it skips tracks rather than playing. There's been no network changes - I've run command arp -a and the NDX has an IP address assigned. It's hardwired. Many resets of all components has not improved things - does anyone please have any ideas? Many thanks

Good noon all, I'd like to whether the new uniti remote is available as a part, as advertised on the atom's support section, what is the price? My remote is working correctly, however, the glossy plastic body gets so easily marked/scratched, so just in case, i'd like to know when/where the remote is available and what's the price? Also, will it easily pair with my Atom as I read somewhere that each remote can work with only one unit? thanks

Evening all, I've had my NDX almost a year and a couple of queries regarding the app.... 1. I'm sure when streaming from my US the app used to have a symbol that looked like an open book and when pressed would display additional info about whatever ripped CD I was listening to. That seems to have vanished? 2. The app itself is quite unreliable, often when you tap the back key it doesn't go back to previous screen I.e. from chosen album to all albums and I have to close the app and relaunch.

At the moment I'm on a mac mini and audirvana which is fine but the mac mini is now 6 years old and I've moved onto android phones and tablets. Theres an old ipad thats getting slower and i dont want to buy more Apple ipads or phones. Looking forward i'd like something that gives me similar quality and good app that I can control with android and was hoping for some ideas - INNUOS mini /ARCAM r/Auralic? I've not the budget for a naim streamer CD5XS /nac 202/200/napsc/ovator 400 and a Dac V1...

Hi, I bought my HDX second hand and promptly got it serviced and upgraded, but reading other forums suspect the CMOS battery is running low - and I understand this powers the BIOS and may be a factor in why the machine temporarily crashes (“System Error”). Any advice?

Another new Nova query. When I first unboxed the Nova, one of the first things I liked was in first play via Spotify the volume control on the phone (android) in the Spotify app gave fine volume control. One-click was equal to one volume level. However I see to have lost that control without changing anything. First to increments of 6. But now it jumps unevenly. 27-40-46 just now listening to Roger Waters. I can't seem to find a setting on Spotify App or the Naim App to control that. Any ideas?

Question for someone with more tech background than me please. I’m thinking of getting an APC uninterruptible power supply to feed my NAS in order to protect it from surges, power cuts etc. Reading up, it all looks good, but should I worry about the fact that the wave form is a synthesised sinewave instead of an ‘analog’ form, or am I making a duff comparison here. Any potential effect on the end effect on my music? My Audiophilia Nervosa is playing me up something chronic Doc!

...Do not get on well. I'm using the Naim app and integrated Tidal app on my OnePlus5 (flagship smartphone) and the app is flaky as fu*?! For example; Album artwork jumps around when scrolling and it's difficult to choose the desired album. As I end up selecting the wrong one. Tidal integration is also not great with the search function disappearing half the time or more recently just crashing the app. Also when choosing uPnp mode to browse my cd collection (on NAS) the Tidal home screen...

OK, this is weird. I've mostly listened to purchased HiRes content from Qobuz on my Nova or used their app to Chromecast. Using an old WD MyCloud box which I will replace when I get around to it with something better. I've got an awful feeling that when I ripped most of my CDs years ago and used iTunes Match for convenience for the iPhone (well before streaming services were so popular) that I may not have ripped them lossless - from memory iTunes used to upload the tracks to 'Match' them...

Hi All, I have read previous posts on this, as well as Phil's sticky to no avail and wonder if anyone can shed any light. There are a couple of issues, they may be related. Notes; there is only 1 wifi access point, one network, no POE. System ; N serve Super uniti UniteQute x 2 I-phone IOS 11.2.1 Issue 1. The Nserve doesnt appear as a UPNP device on naim app. The N serve app had to be manually configured. I had to turn auto connection "off" and manually enter Ip address. When auto connection...

I have been enjoying streaming with Naim players and various servers for nearly three years now. I have ripped my CD collection (using dBpoweramp) as well as buying downloads from Qobuz and Highresaudio. However, there are a couple of metadata issues that are driving me mad. The first is inconsistency between artist names. For example I have a number of ELO albums some of which are under artist ELO, some under Electric Light Orchestra and some under Jeff Lynne's ELO. Is there a bulk metadata...

I wonder if anyone could tell me if during a firmware update, if there is an internet drop out during the process would it brick the player or is it a power failure that would do this (or both) ? This also applies to a TV , or is it best to play safe and download to a USB stick. I occasionally get a drop out, not a lot but knowing my luck it just might do it during an update.

After many years of faultless streaming, a recent internet outage means I've decided to build a local library of flac / hi-res files. I'll still use Spotify because it's playlists and discovery features are excellent, and I can't live without connect. I'm receiving my new atom next week, so I have a few questions. 1) Roon. This is basically a nice way of accessing your local library, from what I can tell. If I'm not planning on using Tidal, does it still offer any kind of discovery features...

I have a MUSO QB, and a much older naim NAIT5 SI that currently uses an airport express as the DAC. I have updated the QB firmware and the app. My goal has always been to a) have great sound and b) have music synchronized between 2 rooms. The bulk of my music is in an apple itunes library. I either play the music from my phone, or from the mothership -- a desktop, streamed over the apple network. The concept, when I bought the system from a stereo store, was that apple airplay was the...

I hope this post saves you time and frustration. I own both the Naim UnitiQute and the Naim 172 XS. I bought the UnitiQute a few years ago and my experience of network based inputs had been disappointing. More often than not I would go to play music and find that the network interface was down. I would have to press a number of buttons on the remote to start the network interface and then play music. After a variable amount of time (sometimes 30s, sometimes several minutes) the music would...

I have Naim streamers in three rooms, and really enjoy having all three on the go when we have friends round. I've always assumed that the Naim multi-room protocol is highly specific - it works between Naim streamers but not other brands. This is one thing that deters me from trying and possibly buying other streamers (renderers?). Is there a common multi-room protocol that works across different (non-Naim) brands? Is there ever a chance Naim would use a non-bespoke protocol to allow brand...

Due to foreseen and unforeseen circumstances I find my self without my main HiFi amplifier and my 55" Samsung TV, the unforeseen bit, which are both at the heart of my AV system. Anyway, I have had to retreat to my Muso for a bit of music. This is primarily used as a 'soundbox' for my ancient, but working, LG tv. This is driven by a SkyQ mini box so in effect the Muso is connected via WiFi. Firstly, for no good reason I connected the Muso via my iPad using Tidal. This proved to be rather...

All I have a Naim NAC-172 that I am using with a Qnap NAS drive which stores my music in AIFF format. I use the Naim iPad app as the interface. I am looking for some advice on setup and use of the iPad interface application. I use a MacBook Pro with connected DVD to copy cds in AIFF format into iTunes and from the iTunes music folder I copy each album to the NAS drive. The problem I seem to have is that whilst all of the music files appear to have copied across to the NAS (they are clearly...

What exactly is the difference between the 2 models? Some reviews suggest that the 2nd version has 50 watts output, 192 khz, bluetooth. But other reviews assert that ver 2 is only 30 watts and no bluetooth. And even with the first model 192 khz capability seems to have been added later. So what do we get with the Qute 2 over the Qute? Appreciate the insights.
