What is the latest music you downloaded, what resolution and from where?

With more music being downloaded I thought it might be interesting to see what forum members are buying and from where.

The news that HD Tracks are soon to open an online UK store means that more choice is going to be available to us. The variety and quality of downloadable music we can choose from is expanding, MP3 to 24bit studio Masters at 192kHz and beyond.

So what are you buying and downloading?

It's always about the base material 24/192 can add a lot in case the base material is good. The Macy Gray jazz album I got last week is stunning...., and I have more great examples..., while I also have disappointments like Michael Jackson's Thriller...

I'm sure that's true, but at £15+ a pop it's an expensive experiment, when I can buy most cds for £5 and rip them myself

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Flying Microtonal Banana

Yet another excellent psychedelic album from (nearly) everyone's favourite Aussie hippies. They plan to release FIVE albums this year!

Available rather confusingly on two Bandcamp sites, one in Aussie Dollars and a cheaper one in US Dollars. Cheapest of the lot was Qobuz...

(24th February)

Just 2 remixed tracks  but I couldn't resist.

Bandcamp | FLAC & MP3 320

To coincide with their up & coming tour, Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation will be releasing a reworked version of their sultry album track, “Sister Green Eyes”, this will be the bands third single from their much lauded album 2016 album Mirage.

Right from the outset, “Sister Green Eyes” sensuously throbs to a more Eastern drive, with an sedated ‘Velvets’ droned melody, a fluctuating groove straight out of the ‘CAN’ little black book, it flirts around with the hue of a half-goned tranced-out Siouxsie Sioux.

More info about the tracks for those interested here.
