Weird Tidal problem.

Posted by: Mike1951 on 06 December 2018

All of a sudden, when opening Tidal throughthe NAIM app., my playlists won’t automatically play the next track when the previous one has finished. It either takes a long long time to do it, or it jumps to a completely different track (randomiser is set to the off position) or if I tap the next song, it displays the info., does nothing, then the info screen goes blank?

What the actual ....? Anybody else getting this?

I think you need to reinstall the Tidal firmware 4.4 and then do 4.6.  As two control pads don't work it only leaves the streamer...

Just a thought did you do a factory reset after installing 4.6 ?

Nope, but... any port in a storm.

I’ll have a go.

Nope. Didn’t work.

I think 4.4 isn't working properly - 4.4. is the update that added Tidal functionality.

Well I dumped 4.4 and loaded 4.6 and it still isn’t working.

Just spoken to NAIM support.

Apparently Tidal have made a change to their software that now conflicts with NAIM.

They are well aware of the problem and are working on it. A solution is expected “early next year”.

Apparently, they’ve been flooded with emails about the problem. Weird that I seem to be alone on here in this regard. I suppose not all NAIM owners find the time to yackettyyack on the streaming forum...

Looks like it’s headphones from the Tidal app and Bluetooth on the system until the cavalry arrive.

Happy days, eh? ????????????

BTW: why hasn’t this new mismatch been announced/covered in the information posts above this thread?

Mr Dane? Care to comment?
