Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

I did take a look at her website. I certainly wouldn't want to upset her!! A certain photographer must have noticed a drop in business after trying it on. Silly mistake to make. Tony

She is not scarey - she's really nice...!!

But that photographer certainly made a big mistake, as you will have read.

The Moon, Venus and Jupiter last night just after dusk. I'll have another try tonight & give it a bit more thought -

Great minds and all that...I'm going to have another proper go too...Are you using 70-200?

Moon and planets

Shame you can't actually see the planets in this squeezed pic!)

Hi James, I just had my trusty 24-105 on. Stuck it on Bulb, 400asa, approx. 10 secs exposure. I'll give the 200 a spin in a min!

I gave up, and took a pic of the moon on its own instead. Spooky. Tony

Gave up myself, too tricky trying to get exposure right with moon in the shot, it's just too bright to get it and the stars right, even tried using dark filters, exposures from 30 secs to 2 minutes

Nice one.I guess we could see Mercury too, if we were in a desert, right after sunset?

Posted on: 28 March 2012 by tonym

Thanks Fabio. Re. Mercury, I'll have a look at the app. I've got on my iPad & see where it is.

I gave up last night - I went out too late & wanted to capture the moon just above the horizon with some residual light from the sunset lighting up the sky. It also appears that the Moon's drifted away from the other two planets which spoils the effect.

Oh well, one last time tonight then it'll be a case of waiting another few thousand years until it all lines up again...

Nice one Tony - at least I should be able to get something similar with the 70-200L.

She's a little more revealing tonight...About the limit of what I can get though, at a 150% crop!
