Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

A Great Tit !

Posted on: 07 April 2012 by Chris G

To Steve - some superb images, I particularly like the nuthatch.  The compliments are all due to the photographer, but I would be interested to know what equipment was used for the shots?

Posted on: 07 April 2012 by Steve J

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the compliments. My main camera body is a Nikon D700 but I also have a D7000 for a more lightweight alternative for holidays. The nuthatch was taken with the D700 and Nikon 105mm on a tripod with remote and the camera set to 5fps. I was lucky that the one visit by the bird produced about 8 decent different photos. The one above is my favourite. Another shot is included below. The great tit was also taken with the same set up. For the other birds above these were taken with a 28-300mm zoom hand held.

Which macro lens Jamie?

It's not a macro as such, Canon EF 135 f2 with a Kenko tube on it...

I pic from my iPhone. I took it at work today at Wattisham airfield. And in the centre is a wee aircraft I haven't seen flying in decades.

Blimey, spot on!

Only the Hunter and Swift look a bit like it from below. Hunter would take up a few more pixels and there ain't no Swifts as far as I know!

Still good going though Jamie. The two of them performed for about an hour, so provided a nice diversion from things like work Tony

Another magnolia. Taken from my daughters bedroom window in the evening light, as were the others above.
