Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

The Red Arrows bore me silly, but yeah, they're quite good to photograph.

Not the closest of images of the Red Arrows that I have but I love the cloud formation. Viewed as a larger image you feel you are looking down on the planes. Taken using a Nikon compact camera.

You're making me very jealous now Sniper. Do you realise how bad the weather is over here?

Keep well,

Hi Steve,

No, I have no idea. It is the middle of may, how bad can it be? It is about 30 degrees here - actually it is either warm and wet or hot and dry here and no such thing as cold. I do not own a coat, jacket or even a jumper. Most days I wear a T shirt and shorts. Here is the view from my study window this morning.

So do I. About 7 weeks of cold wet weather over here and he still keeps posting his bloody photos of nirvana to rub it in. It even rained in Spain when I was there a couple of weeks ago.

On the bright side. Jamie, congratulate Frankie on some very fine fancies.

I see Flickr lets you see much larger images now, albeit the more recently uploaded ones. Much better effort (despite Yahoo...)

I don't like the new Flickr editing tool - Aviary.

It's still easy to crop but doesn't allow one to slightly level a 'tilting' photo, something my camera does all the time, (unless i have one leg shorter than the other).

Although Aviary does have useless childish features like stickers, so you can stick false noses, hats, moustaches etc on peoples faces.

Plus lots of other far too techy stuff that i won't use in a million years : <

Gotta say I only use Flickr for posting, never used any of its editing tools, most editors let you rotate and crop one way or another though.

I don't wish to be 'teaching granny...' anything Debs, but a tilted pic is a common problem which can be fairly easily resolved in camera in many situations. Assuming it's a digital camera, it may well have a grid overlay for the screen/finder which makes levelling much easier, especially if holding a camera at arms length and viewing via screen. Sometimes it's hidden deep in menus or may be a simple button sequence but if you haven't tried it before, it should help.

Plus, a tilt often occurs from top left to bottom right, simply by the action of pressing the shutter button (on the right of course). If you're aware of the possibility of it occuring, it then seems easier to compensate!

This was taken from inside the house through a window and mosquito screen so it is none too sharp but it is a lovely scene anyway
