Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

It was a perfect day for hiking that's for sure. 30 km round trip in 30 degree heat...my legs are still pretty sore!

Tell you what, you should try the hills around Peterborough. The East Anglian Ski-ing club is based around here somewhere...

Sir Edward Elgar was certainly the greatest English composer [English of birth rather than adopted as Handel was] up to his time after Henry Purcell and of course he made a few visits to the photographers for a portrate photo or two in his famous years, and this photo is of a charcoal impression from a 1933 sepia original portrate photo.

The charcoal was done by a friend of mine [as dated, but signature erased so as to avoid any embarrassment] in the early hours after my brother's 21st birthday party, having totally soberly driven a good eighty miles ...

We were enjoying a further beer or two as well and I explained the original ultra-airbrushed photo, which was duly re-interpreted in charcoal! Though we can never know, I think this catches the old man rather as a man of some self-confidence, though in aged recesssion!

Dear EJ,

I had a large original print of that in those days, from which my friend worked. We were both on planet nine at the time, and yet this worked rather well. and I suspect that my friend's imagnation was working better than the photoagrapher's airbrush!

I love that charcoal. It is on the wall in my room today as it has been from nearly thirty years!

When i try and copy and paste from Flickr the pic doesn't show. Just get a little box with a question mark in it. Hmmm...

SAndy, what you need to do is - on the pic you want to post here - go to Share and select "Grab the HRML BBCode", click on the "HTML" button, select "medium" size and copy the code. Then on the Naim forum, in your reply, select "HTML" on the far right. Then just copy the HTML code into the dislogue box and... simples!
