Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Blimey. It's a bit of an animal.

Lower Manhattan, photoed this last spring.  Haven't been back since the storm but I expect it looks a little different.

Lovely pic Ian. I wish we had some red squirrels around here in the South East. I think the nearest colony is down on Brownsea Island. My friend lives in Baldock and has a colony of black squirrels. I must remember to take my camera next time I visit.

Thank you Rod, Steve & David for your kind comments.

Sadly, I fear they are in decline at Formby as well due to an increase in the disease caught from the greys.  Apparently the population of reds on the island of Anglesey is growing which is super news.

David, I used a Canon 1DS Mk2, 70-200mm F2.8L and a Manfrotto 058 tripod, raw files processed in Capture One.

I'm on to Ian. Its easy to focus. The squirrel has been to a taxidermist. You can gently move the limbs in a number of directions to get that just right pose before taking your shot.

Such beautiful shots I hope you are right...

I'm on to Ian too.  Looks like the squirrel has succumbed to bribery.  Or alternatively perhaps it has been a good peanut crop in Formby this year...  But seriously, great pics, and lovely to actually see that there are still red squirrels in England.  We just have plenty of greys here.

GML, loving the woods...

It's a grey squirrel after a trip to a beautician and hairdresser. Completely fake.

Stunning shots.

Ha, ha!  Thanks everyone.

I admit I am guilty of a bit of cheating by throwing down peanuts to coax the beasts!  Everything else is for real, promise!

Kind regards, Ian

Gerry, lovely pics - how fortunate to live where you do.

I am not too well up on my birds - is that a Hobby?  Do you live in the Highlands?

Kind regards, Ian
