Nice Photos.

Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.

Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.

Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Hope this is with a zoom lens?

The rhino horn looks deadly

They were about 3-4 metres away, but our guides said they looked like they were in a good mood. As it was my eagle eyes that spotted them, after a few hours of fruitless searching and deciding to go home, I wasn't going to walk away. A once in a lifetime experience. Tony

The day before we arrived, a rhino cow (with calf) charged a walking safari group - she hit a German lady who is now hospitalised with multiple fractures.

Elephants are even a problem for those of us in cars. As long as you don't get too close and leave sufficient grace space, herds don't tend to be a problem, but lonely bulls can be. Even in our quite large rented 4WD, we had to turn around or wait a long while when a bull barred the road on three occasions.

There were I believe two incidents involving elephants toppling over cars while we were there. It happens when drivers get too close and subsequently can't back up because of a que of cars behind them, or lose their cool when the elephant comes charging at 40 kph...

Cheers,

EJ

We had a bull elephant wander through our camp. He got so close my lens wouldn't focus any closer. And yes, that's his willy.

Is that looking down a light tube?, or a convex dome?

Posted on: 24 November 2012 by Paper Plane

Just to be a tease, I'll be interested if anyone on here does know where it was taken.

It's not a light tube.

Somehwere under a giant silver ball...The tiles look like London Underground?

If I zoom in on the yellow image at 11 o clock it looks like a worker in a clean room suit !

Storm Thurgerson had some silver balls like that in a exhibition we went to.

Had never seen a cameleon in the wild before... if this fellow hadn't crossed the street, we would never have spotted him.

EJ,

I too saw my first chameleon this year in Portugal. Beautiful creatures. Mine had just climbed a large tree trunk and was mainly brown. Your green one is more handsome. I posted some pictures on this thread back in September. Which country were you in?

Millennium Park in Chicago.  Underneath the "Cloudgate" (aka The Bean) sculpture.

Let me know where to send my address so that you can ship me the NDS that I won in your contest.

Thanks a lot!  Great contest!!  Can't wait for my NDS.

That's who it is! Thought I'd recognised Him. It was driving me mad.
