Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.
Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

I seem to remember reading that The Nene is the slowest flowing river in England...So probably explains a lot.
Yes, bloke had sledge, with his other half, dog and two kids and having a great time until she did a magnificent Keystone Cops type fall on the icy snow, real joke banana skin stuff, feet in the air above her head. I heard the whack from across the river. They stopped and went home after that.

Great shot. I'm impressed that you were able to get that with a 200mm lens.

I was out and about in Squamish yesterday, too. Failed with the eagles this time, though.
Thanks Winky. I found that guy just off the highway along the Mamquam river. I would love to have a longer lens (might get the 300 f4 one day) but have discovered that with the 24 mp D600 i can crop photos a lot more than i could before while still retaining decent sharpness.
Checked out your Squamish set and there are some really great eagle shots there! Do you use a tripod with that 400 or can you use it handheld?

I can handhold it OK. But it is damn heavy. I have a strap system worked out that makes it not too heavy to carry. I typically try to sit or crouch and brace an elbow on a knee to stabilise it if using it handheld. Handheld, when standing is a bit hit-or-miss for me. The VR works great but has its limits. The egret is handheld (braced). The seagull is handheld too but I didn't nail it there. The panning meant some blur.

Nice photo Winky. Looks familiar! Ever tried that WaterShed Grill on the right?
Yep, been to the Watershed. It wasn't as fancy as one would expect. More of a pub. But a great location. Our favourite in town is probably HSB.
Howe Sound brew pub is great. The fact that it's a five minute walk from home is an added bonus!

Winky,
a lovely series of photos. the "work" you have done on them really looks great. Could frame them and show then as a series of artworks.
Sniper,
great action shots. very impressed with the acrobatics. i'm sure the ladies would enjoy the muscle man.
A gray and black and white sort of day, but a splash of colour as well:-
Buchan Park , Crawley, 21/01/13.
I don't use any post production, I don't know how, so straight out of the Canon EOS 350D and EF-S 18-55.

I think you're being a bit kind. I'm just playing with some HDR processing software. The cartoony, video-game look is kind-of interesting for a while but I'm not sure I'd hang them on the wall.
