Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.
Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

A beautiful vintage look on Fujifilm Provia slide film.
It's lovely. Great colours Steve. What camera/lens did you use?
Thank you Kevin. It was shot with a very basic Nikon FM10 and a 35-70 kit lens, which cost about a hundredth of the cost of my Monochrom/Summilux!
Kevin,
is this your official "valentines" submission?
Yes darling. x
oo err missus
is that a close up of a Hula skirt?
It's an art installation.
Thanks. Here's a few more taken on the same walk. Despite how it looks, it was -5°C.
Any guesses?
Don't know, Rod. Where were they taken?
From the "High Line" in New York, a wonderful public space/park created from the disused raised freight railway track in the mid West Side / Chelsea - Greenwich village. A must see for your next visit.
This picture gives a impression of how cold it was I think. That is a blizzard brewing in the sky:
Some great pics last few days. I especially like this one from Tony.
This looks like a little shop in Keswick, Cumbria??
Missed by a couple of miles, Floid.
It's a house in the heart(ish) of London. I cannot tell you exactly where for copyright reasons.

Swim in, stand on or fly over the icy mess.

Correct Haim! Took this one with the 300 two months ago when even at noon the sun barely cleared the mountains. By the way, the D600 is now back at Nikon for a little TLC after developing a few spots on the sensor...
