Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.

Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.
Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:

I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

Mrs D is currently skiing at Silver Star. Fresh snow over the weekend. I imagine the scenes on the more remote parts of the Monashees are similar to your photo. Last week she was up at Sunshine.
Down in the valley the first of the golf courses has opened.
Perhaps I should have taken leave and gone with her after all, it looks superb.
Cheers

Ha. Had three days' cat skiing at Chatter Creek a week ago. Didn't see my skis for the whole time. Deep, deep snow.

Yeah. You should see those little guys pound down through the powder. They just love it!

For pure powder skiing, cat skiing is arguably better. You can ski in all weather, thus getting the best snow and the best tree skiing possible. For at least one (if not two) of the days I was at Chatter Creek, the helis would have been grounded due to snow and visibility. Instead of sitting in the lodge, we skied through the trees in deep powder that billowed over our heads on many turns.
For access to steep faces and chutes in the alpine, heli-skiing perhaps works better, but it is also twice as expensive (and generally more testosterone charged). Having said that, my goal is to do a heli week in AK, on some really steep stuff. Not so much powder as just steep challenging runs in a place like no other.
Derwent Water :-

Cool.
They had an unexpected fall of snow last night at Preditor and Silver Star so Mrs D and the grandaughter's other gran have gone off to catch another day on the slopes. No cats or helis but no doubt great fun none-the-less.
I'm afraid their pictures focus (well, sometimes they are in focus) on the youngster, and the scenery is an irrelevant backdrop, so not for this thread.
